man explained the duties of all officers and told the real meaning and purpose of the society, where fellowship prevails. Mr<, Lnlen , G xxie. who represented the effilirch at a National Assembly^ of Women’s Society of Christtln^ervice hold in Hou ston Tegns.’ May 7 through the 10th , j;a •> an interesting and inspiring report, where she with some 10.000 women and church older s attended. Sho reported many National, spiritual and personal problems were aired, solved and discussed with many prominent speakers. I his being the first lay-women of churches were evqr invited t > attend. Mis, Goode m her most pleasing manner gave to her audience Wednesday evening a good mental picture of the unrest, urn certainty and the keen desire for Peace that prevails throughout the world. The three day assembly closed with an Agape Love Feast. Mrs. Goode showed slides of much of the assembly activities. It will he four years before there will be a similar Assembly, such as this one. Mrs. Walter Smith gave the devotions that closed the meeting. Mis. Warner Clark and her committee served refreßb)nents during the social hour. The pretty homemaker jumped from bed at the sound of her alarm clock, slipped into the minimum undergarments and housecoat. In her usual efficiency. it was no time until she had fed them and hustled off the kiddies to school and hubby to his office Watslng no time, she gathered the family's soiled items and hurried to her basement laundry room to start a load of washing. Finding the load a bit light and her robe a little soiled, too, she reacted in Gypsy Rose Lee fashion and added her housecoat. Alas, she then spied some frightening cobwebs in the corner and grabbed a broom to do them in, but in feminine squeamishness, with the ability to improvise, she donned her son's football helmet tn protect her hair and approached the task. Just then the enevitai h meter man arrived to read the utility meter. He moved quickly about his task and was about to leave as the housewife stood aghast in a broom-swinging pose. Then he stopped for a moment and turned with a smile, "I sure hope yo si team wins the game ladv!"
