Mr. and Mrs. Robert Strope and Sandra and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Krause of South Bend were recent callers of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Strope. Miss Belle K. Smith and Miss Ruth Kelver, of Mishawaka and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carbiener of Walkerton were Sunday afternoon callers of Mrs. Myrtle Donathen. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Newcomer, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Folk and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hanson and family of North Liberty, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanson of South Bend and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman were callers over the week end of Mrs. Addie Hanson, whose birthday was on Saturday. They came to greet her for this occasion.

Rev. Sam Stinson of the County Line Brethren Church was the guest speaker on Sunday morning at the North Liberty First Brethren Church. Rev. and Mrs. Kent Bennett and family have returned home from church conference at Ashland, Ohio. Mrs. Mable Lehman, North Liberty and Mrs. Helen Sheneman of South Bend called on Mrs. Addie Hanson last Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. William Jones returned home last Friday from Crandon, Wise., where they spent several weeks visiting their daughter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Perry and son Joey.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant Poynter and Lynne of Kokomo spent Satin day with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Worthington. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fellow and family of South Bend were Sunday afternoon callers of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kurzhal. Mrs. Merlin Arnold, of Osceola, daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Arnold, is a patient in the intensive care ward in a hospital in Osseo, Wise. Mrs. Arnold with Mr. Arnold were on a business trip when she suffered a severe heart attack. Mr. and Mrs. W’alter Taylor called on Mr. and Mrs. William Kurzhal in South Bend on Monday evening. On Friday evening. August 21 Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilcox attended Commencement exercises at Indiana State University. Terre Haute, Ind., for their son and daughtei'-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry W’ilcox. Mr. Wilcox received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and is currently working on a Master of Science Pegree. Mrs. Wilcox received a Master of Science Degree in Science Education and has accepted a teaching positeion ’n Terre Haute. A cook out was held Sunday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roush in honor of the birthday of Mrs. Lulu Roush. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ulbricht. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beghtel and Cindy, Miss Pearl Roush and Wally, all of North Liberty; Miss Ruth Lichtenberger, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roush of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. George Roush and Pat of Lakeville, Mr. and? Mrs. Lyle Roush, Mike and Torry, Arlen Holderread, of Walkerton and Mr. and Mrs. David Roush and Jeff of Bremen. grandmother, Mrs. Esther Harman. Mr. and Mis. Harold Hunt of Kokomo are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bare and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Alva Heyde of Huntington in their cottage at Long Lake near North Manchester. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bailey, Brian and Brenda of Goshen were Sunday visitors of Esther Harman. Mr, and Mrs. Floyd Whiteleather and daughters of South Bend were recent visitors along with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sorgenfrei and Mark of South Bend. The Walkerton Demonstration Club enjoyed a picnic at Shencman’s Grove on Monday evening of this week. Mrs. Charles Bare sustained a broken right arm in an accident at her home on Sunday afternoon. She is in the Osteopathic hospital where she had surgerv on her arm Monday and will remain in the hospital for several days.
