A most pleasant day and dinner was en--1 joyed by all. Mr. B. A. Sweigart. former superintendent of Wakerton High School and his wife, Daisy of Clearwater, Florida stopped in Walkerton Monday to call on friends. They were on their way ! to Crown Point to visit their son Nick Sweigart and famiy. Nick is Director of Guidance and Dean of Students at Taft Junior High School in Crown Point. Their other son, Jack, is District Sales Manager for New York and New York City. Delta Airlines. Charles McKesson and son Warren, of Caracas. Venezuela, arrived in Walkerton Saturday for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McKesson. Charles has been employed by Gulf Oil Company since February 1949, working in Maracaibo, San Tome and Caracas. Venezuela. On September 1, he will begin his new po- ! sition with the company at Buenos Aires. Argentina. He will travel by plane and locate living quarters for the family. Mrs. McKesson, Valerie and Warren will go by boat. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson Jr., and children returned Monday from vacationing in the East. They were met by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hostetler of Iselin. New' Jersey at Hershey, Pennsylvania and enjoyed a campout and tour of Hershey an the Pennsylvania Dutch country. The Andersons' then traveled to Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, Va. and Shenandoah National Park for a week of sightseeing. An interesting stop on the way home was the U. S. Air Force Museum at Dayton, Ohio.

Ernest Grabowski of South Bend were Sunday at let noon and evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Beagles. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Birk spent several days last week visiting Mrs. Bilk's son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Tiede at Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Gerry will host the pot luck supper at the Koontz Lake Conservation Club on Saturday evening, August 22 at 5:30 p.in. CDT. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph DiXon returned last Thursday from a vacation trip through the central and southern part of Indiana and state parks and seeing many places of historical intereest. Richard and Kenneth Gentile of Lombard, Illinois w’ere here last week to spend several days with their aunt, Mrs. Russell Smith of Koontz Lake. Mr. nd Mrs Ronald Smith and family are spending this week with his mother, Mrs. Russell Smith of Koontz Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Smith and family are of Crestwood, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Klinedinst, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Klinedinst and family attended the Mauer Reunion at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Baughman on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter LaFeber and family of Ithaca, New York, are spending the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph LaFeber. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Toth, daughter and son were at Koontz Lake several days last week for a visit with her grandparents, Mr. nd Mrs. George Pfeiffer. Mrs. Ruth Hughes of South Bend and Mrs. Bertha Urbin were visitors of relatives at Syracuse and Ligonier on Thursday. Thursday evening and Friday they visited Mrs. D'Maris Metzger of Columbia City. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McKesson, Miss Mildred McKesson, Charles McKesson and Warren spent Sunday in New Carlisle with Mr. and Mrs Leslie Meyer. On Monday evening Charles McKesson and Warren were guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Ackerman at Diamond Lake, Michigan and on Tuesday evening they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hayter and family. Thursday they will return to Vicksburg, Mississippe to join Mrs McKesson and Valarie in further preparations for the move to Buenos Aires. Mrs. Edward Peterson, Koontz Lake, entertained with a one o’clock luncheon and afternoon bridge game Wednesday. August 12. A special guest was Mrs. Kenneth Reynolds of LaPorte. Other guests were from Koontz Like: Mrs. George Downs, Mrs Wiliam Crabb, Mrs. James Morrey and Mrs. George Linphere. From Walkerton were: Mrs. Ellen Brede, Mrs. Bertha Urbin and Mrs. Newton Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Zenger and son, Timmy, of Haddam, Kansas, arrived several days ago for a visit with Mr*. Zenger's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Cramner at Koontz Lake. Timmy and his mother remained for a longer visit with her parents before returning to Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Heim and daughter. Aileen of Fredricksburg, Virginia, spent last week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rizek and family. Mr. Heim and Mrs. Rizek are brother and sister They also visited other relatives around the North Liberty, LaPorte and South Bend area. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Howard, Mark and Dawn of Grosse He, Michigan spent from Thursday to Sunday visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Howard of Koontz Lake and calling on other friends. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Howard and family and Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig were Friday evening visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Art Shirley were Sunday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert W’hitaker and daughter, Karen. Evening supper guests were, Mr. and Mrs. Agnew Ludwig and David and Mr. and Mrs. William Clark. The occasion was to celebrate the fourth birthday of little Miss Karen. ATTENDING PUBLICATION WORKSHOP Miss Kitty Cripe, Walkerton, a student at John Glenn High School, is among eight St. Joseph County students who are participating in the two-week yearbook course at Ball State University's fifth annual High School Publications Workshop. TRUEAX-KEPCHA REUNION The 38the annual Trueax and Kepcha reunion was held Sunday, August 16 at Fox Park in LaPorte. There were 57 members present and three guests. After a picnic dinner the meeting was called to order by Bob Lynch, the president. New officers were elected for the coming year. They are: Mike Malstaff, president and Pam Malstaff, sec-treas. Games were played and prizes won. The oldest member present was Chink Gretz and the youngest was Todd Hough. Next year's reunion will be held August 8 at the Plymouth park.
