Rainbow News Special emphasizes were made at the Walkerton Assembly Order of Rainbow for Girls meeting held Monday evening that all monies taken in for Camp Millhouse must be turned over to Mrs. Gary Clark on or before August 24th. Mother Advisor, Mrs. Bruce Henry and Worthy Advisor Miss Marianne Kersh presided for the meeting and urged all members to attend the next meeting August 24 at which time practice for the initiatory degrees will follow the meeting. Two candidates, Misses Janet Kincaide and Kathy Kersh will receive the degrees. 'Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Drews an^ Mrs. Irene Lidy plan to attend a reception for Ann Thompson, Winamac, Grand Recorder, International Order of Rainbow in Indiana on Saturday, August 22. Polk Twnship 4 H Winners The Marshall County 4-H Fair held last week at the Argos Community Building produced many winners. The Polk Town ship winners arc as follows: Flowers: Scott Marquardt, red ribbon. Garden, division I, Sherry Newberg, white ribbon; division IV, David Bollhoefer, blue ribbon. Insects: division I, Thomas Haag, white ribbon. Geology: division I, Thomas Haag, white ribbon. Forestry: division 111. Mike Samuelson, blue ribbon and JoAnn Dolph. Junior Reserve Champion in Food Preservation. • The jersey Grand Champion was won by William Thompson ! and Doris Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gardner, of • route 1, Walkerton, won the i Grand Champion ribbon in the 4-H Swine Show with her 214 pound Hampshire barrow. with Sandy and Trixie. Class 32, mare and foal over 4G in. and to 50 in., Linda Trent placed first with Penny and Snowflake and in second place was Jill Miller with Goldie and Tony. In Class 17, Barbara Pippenger placed second with Sam. In Class 20. four year old and over gelding 56” and over was David Trent with Buck for first place and eighth place went to Jill Miller with Charlie.

Cadet William F. Zlatos, Jr., whose parents live at 607 Harrison Street, Walkerton, is receiving six weeks practical application in military leadership at the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps' basic summer camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky from June 26 to August 6. Cadet Zlatos is one of approximately 4,000 young men expected to attend ROTC basic camp at Fort Knox. He will train as a small unit leader and instructor in realistic exercises, and will receive command experience and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in the field. Zlatos is a student at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana. Drive Carefully!
