Rud Brown of Lakeville called on Mr. and Mrs. W Iter Taylor on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert La Turner and family of Rockford, Illinois. have purchased the Dwaine Whitmer residence. Mr. LaTurner has bought an employment agency, “availability.” in South Bend. They expect to move here the 10th of August. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark. Mt and Mrs. Durwood Clark and Luwaine attended the Golden Wedding Anniversary on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rosnet in South Bend. Mrs. Rosnet is a sister of Harry Clark. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hay, Marlis and Dana and Mrs. Inez Hay spent Saturday and Sunday. July 25 md 26 with Ed Hay at his cottage at Diamond Lake. Michigan. Mrs. Barbara Bradburg and children of South Bend called on Mt and Mrs. Vern Beauchamp Sunday afternoon. Monday evenirg callers were Karen Sue Betuchamp and Arthur Crowe of South Bend. The WMS of the First Brethten Church will meet at the Church on Friday. August 7 at 7:30 with Ruth Clark as hostess. Iris Boone is the leader and at this time the thank offering and project offering will be lifted. No laymen meeting this month. Pastor and Mrs. Kent Bennett. Joa and Julie are on vacation and return home this week. Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Wharton reti med home from a vacation on August 3rd where they visited Mt and Mrs. Glen Rowe at Spokti 3. Washington. Mrs. Rowe is a cousin of Mrs. Wharton. They also visited with Mr. and Mt - Bob Morris at Cor-Delene. Id ho, a former classmate of Mt and Mis. Wharton of North Liberty High School. Miss Darlene Gouker, daughter of Mi. and Mrs. John Gouker. suffered a broken nose at the softball game at North Liberty Park on Saturday evening. Darlene had been keeping score, when the ball came in the right dir tion to hit her. In keeping scote she couldn't have done much.
