WESTERN STATES TRIP ENJOYED Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Cole and sons returned last week from a trip to Canoga Park. California where they went to attend the high school graduation of William Leonard Roberts on June the 19th and the wedding of Patti Roberts to Wayne Dell on June the 20th. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roberts who moved to California in 1956. Mrs. Roberts is a daughter of the Beatys and a sister of Mrs. Cole. Mr. Cole flew out for the events and returned by car with his family. Mr. ans Mrs. Steve Baaer and children and Mr. and Mrs. O’Dell also former residents of Walkerton, now living in California, attended the wedding and enjoyed getting some up to date news of their home town from the Beatys while the young folks enjoyed swimming in the pool in the late evening alter the departure of the bride and groom for their wedding trip. After several days visit the Coles left for a tour of a few of the national parks such as Zion, Grand Canyon, Royal Gorge, etc and stopped over with friends in Denver, Colorado on their way home. We hear Ed defintely prefers Indiana. The Beaty’s traveled north to visit Mr. and Mrs. William Beaty of Mulino, Oregon near Portland. The men are the oldest and the youngest of the Beaty brothers and sisters. While there they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Beaty, Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Gould who both lived west of Portland near the coast in a very scenic area. Leaving Portland the Beatys

where the Jefferson. Madison an<f Galatln Rivers come together to form this great river flowing to the Mississippi River, were part of the trip home. Good weather, scenic views along most of the 6300 miles of fine roads traveled and pleas int visits with family and friends made it a very wonderful trip.
