ROSS - MACY Miss Judith Ann Ross and Steve Macy were united in marriage during a candlelight xzvbq riage during a double-ring candlelight ceremony on Saturday, May 9 at the Beaver Creek Wesleyan Church, North Liberty. Rev. Dean Krieg, pastor officiated and he was assisted by the groom’s brother-in-law, John Chambers of Marion College. The bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ross, route 1, Walkerton. She is a senior nursing major at Ball State University, Muncie and a graduate of Tyner High School. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Macy, route 2, Ridgeville, and a graduate of Ridgeville High School. He is manager of Community Credit* Corporation, Anderson. He at® tended Marion College and In H diana University. £ Angelmist taffeta trimmed® with Venice lace and pull through® ribbon was chosen for the bride’s® Empire gown. The lace formed® the Victorian collar and extended® down the center front of the bo-® dice and A-line skirt to the hem-® line; it also accented the cuffs of the long, bishop sleeves and the Empire waist. with lace and appliqued with lace motifs. Three orchids rested on her white Bible. W'hite lace over lavender was used for the floor-length gowns worn by the attendants, Miss Diann Hathaway of Marion College, maid of honor, and Mrs. Richard Skiles, Walkerton, and Miss Myra Ross of Marion College, both sisters of the bride who were bridesmaids. Lavender ribbon trimmed the dresses, Which were styled similarly to the bride's, with the exception of a slight train effect. Lavender bows and netting formed their headpieces and they carried white mums with lavender ribbons. The niece of the bride, Brenda Skiles, was flower girl, while her nephew, Scott Skiles, carried the rings, Duane Jansen of Marion College acted as best man. The groom’s brother, Kenny Macy of Ridgeville, and Darold Hathaway, Ball State University, were groomsmen. Guests were ushered to their seats by Vern Ross of Plymouth, brother of the bride, Gail Macy of Drayton Plains, Michigan, brother of the groom, and Jim Jordan of Walkerton. During the ceremony, the couple took communion before an altar decorated with candelbra and baskets of lavender mums and white gladioli, and palms. Mrs. John Chambers, the groom’s sister, was vocalist and was accompanied on the organ by Sherry Issac of Goshen College. At the reception in the church educational unit the newlyweds greeted approximately 125 guests. Serving were the Misses Bea Cowen and Doreen Wringer of Goshen College, Mrs. Vern Ross. were hosts for the rehearsal dinner at the home of the bride’s parents on May 8. After a wedding trip through the southern states to Florida, Mr. and Mis. Steve Macy are in their home at 1515 Miller Avenue, Marion. James Fair Wins Tri Kappa Scholarship • v-Am mi Winners of tne 1970 Tri Kappa State Scholarship awards were announced by Council VicePresident, Mrs. Milo Mitchell, at the Province 10 Convention on May 14. This year a total of SB,OOO is being awarded to high school graduates throughout the state of Indiana. These scholarships are based n intent, promise and eneed. James Fair. Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Fair, Route 1, Walkerton, is the recipient of a $350.00 General Scholarship. He was sponsored by the Zeta Pi Chapter of North Liberty. Jim has been active in many extra curricular activates at North Lberty. He is Student Council president and a member of the National Honor Society, Letterman's Club and Band. In the field of sports he has been a member of the basketball team for four years, and has participated in track, cross country and football. Jim, who is president of his senior class, will be enterng Taylor Unversity, Upland, Indiana in the fall. It takes a real genius nowadays to make both ends meet.

Rowman Resigns, Alvin Boise Is New Principal Mr. Alvin C. Boise has been named principal of the Urey Middle School in Walkerton. Mr. Boise, presently serving as guidance director for the P-L-J Schools, will succeed Mr. Jack Bowman who is returning to Indiana University to complete work for a doctors degree. MNMMB l 3 BrwSIBI- - B ■ A graduate of Portland High School, Portland, Indiana, Mr. Boise earned both his bachelor and master degrees from Purdue University. He served as a vocational ag teacher at Tyner from 1958 through 1964 and in 1961 assumed his present position as director of guidance. BB^ Mr. Bowman came to P-L-J School in 1967 from Perry Township Schools (Southport) where he had served as a teacher and coach. Both his bachelor and masters degrees are from Indiana University.
