The lawns in the country as well as the cities were full of many shades of lilacs, snowball bushes and colorful beds of tulips, iris and borders of creeping phlox. olina. The mansion, biiflt by George W. Vanderbilt, has a room for every day of the year, a few of which are open to the tourists. The immense size of some of the rooms, richly carved furniture, rich tapestries, famous art works and a library of over 20,000 volumes helps one see what man can create with great wealth. The Botanical Gardens surrounding the mansion were truly beautiful at this time of year.

At every little turn in the foot paths or the car drive there was a beautiful scene for the camera bug. On Sunday morning all attended Sunday School in a friendly little United Methodist Church in Greenview, West Virginia. .he drive along the Kanawha River was interesting with its great industrial plants along the shore and the barges and speed boats on the water. On the return through Ohio,
the group stopped at the home of Mrs. Beaty's mother, Mrg. Stella Campbell, for a brief visit. Safely back In Walkerton, even without the hills nr mountains, our own neighbors tulips looked mighty good to us. The man who lerans from his mistakes will be learning new things the rest of his life. Some people go out of their way just to have their own way.
