Mr, and Mrs. Morris Malstaff of Union Mills were Sunday evening visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Bierly. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schultz and daughter, Marsha of Michigan City called on their aunt, Mrs. Clara Shultz, Sunday afternoon. Mr and Mrs. Ed O'Brien Jr., of Oak Lawn, Illinois were recent visitors of his parents, Mr. apd Mrs. Ed O'Brien. Mr. and Mrs. O'Brien haven't been too well the past few months. Mr and Mrs. B. H. Dowty and daughters returned to their home in Michigan City from a vacation spent in Bradenton, Florida with Mrs. Dowty's father. Mrs Clara Shultz and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rearick and two daughters of Wilmette, Illinois returned Sunday noon from a two weeks vacation spent at Carribbean Ocean Villa at Del Ray Beach, Florida Miss Linda Brown of Koontz Lake and Miss Darlene Hlavacek of Plymouth returned from As|>eji, Colorado, where they spent eight days skiing. They along with 32 other members of a ski club from South Bend made the trip by plane and had a very exciting and wonderful experience.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Brown of Kokomo called on Mrs. Orville Klinedinst last Friday afternoon. Mrs. John Goodpasture will spend the next week in Ander- ; son visiting in tne home of her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. David M. Griffith. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Knowlton and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knowlton and Gene were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ahthur ' DeMyer. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Rans and family of Bremen were Sunday visitors of his sister, and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Fra i ley. Karen, Mike and Judith Hudelmyer of South Bend visited their aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Walz several days last week. Mrs Leland Frailey and her brother, Leonard Rans visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rans at Hebron, Monday. On Friday they will be at Hebron to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary' of their parents. Mrs Esther Kaufman and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kaufman and family were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Epperson and family of East Gary. Mrs. C. H. McCarty of Gary was also a guest. There were 38 present Saturday evening to enjoy the pot luck supper and so< ial time at the Koontz Lake Conservation Club. Come and enjoy next Saturday evening beginning at 5:30 EST with a pot luck supper, followed by a social hour. Mrs. G. Pfeiffer and Mrs F. Helfrich will be hostesses. Mrs. Harold Pontius was the honored guest at a surprise party for her birthday on Saturday evening in the home of her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs James Pontius in South Bend. There were 34 present including her children, grandchildren and one great grandson Mrs. Pontius received many gifts and enjoyed the evening with her family. Refreshments were served along with a birthday cake for . her.

Mrs. Esther Kaufman, Walkerton and Mrs. Germaine Hesters, LaPorte, returned last week after spending the past four months at Paradise Bay Trailer Park .in Bradenton, Florida. Mrs. Anna Tracy, mother of Robert Tracey of Koontz Like, is in the Presbyterian-St.Luke’s Hospital, Chicago, where she has been for the past several weeks. She is undergoing tests, x-rays and surgery. She wishes to thank her friends and loved ones for all the lovely cards and flowers she has received. It is not known at this time when she will be back at the Lake with her son. Miss Karen Hnani, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Hanni, 606 Illinois Street, Walkerton, is a member of the Whippets of Indiana Central College, the coed varsity basketball team who participate in the 17th annual International Girls’ Basketball Tournament at Hamilton, Ohio on Thursday through Saturday, April 2-4. Karen is a co-cap-tain of the team. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Rinehart and Milton Rinehart of LaPorte, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Duffy and Mrs. Helen Allison of Mishawaka spent last Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bandendistel. Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bandenistel of LaPorte, Mr. and Mrs Robert Bandendistel and the latter's mother and daughter all of Gary who came to remind Charlie of his 89th birthday.
