Installation Os Officers Held Saturday A large attendance witnessed the installation of officers of Walkerton Chapter #319 Order of the Eastern Star Saturday evening at the temple. Worthy Matron, Mrs. Clarence Reid and Worthy Patron. Donald Wolfenberger were in charge of the opening. Mrs. Reid introduced othei 4 installing officers; installing patron. Alfred Drews; obligation, Mr. Victor Day; installing organist, Mrs. Kenneth Klinedinst: and installing soloist, Miss Connie Davis of North Liberty. Mrs. Robert King wearing a deep pm pie gown was escorted to the East following her installation by her husband. Miss Davis sang "Thy Will Be Done". Myron Mullet was installed as Worthy Patron and wis given his obligation by Alfred Drews. The soloist sang parodys to "Keep the Home Fires Burning” and "Johnny Comes Marching Home,” in his honor. Mr. and Mrs. Robort Candler were installed as Associate Patron and Matron. (Mr. Drews gave his obligation.) Other officers installed were: secretary. Mrs. Irene Lidy, treasurer, Mr.s. Eugene Zimmerman conductress. Mrs. Myron Mullet; associate conductress, Mrs. De'Wayne Pavey; chaplain, Mrs. Ida Mae Watkins; marshall. Mrs. Dan Dipert; Adah, Mrs. Ralph Jackson; Ruth. Mrs. Edgar Cole; Esther. Mis. Carl Shores; Martha, Mrs. Leland Welch; Electa. Mr.s. William Elkins; warder, Miss Dona Wolfenberger; sentinel. Charles High. Small airanguments of miniature pin plc and white carnations in while milk glass bowls were on the lour stations in the room. Mis. King and Mr. Mullet introduced their families and special friends. Mrs. King explained her reasons tor selecting her motto, her watchwords. "Prayer is the Key," her emblem. "Playing Hands," and her chosen scripture, Matthew 21:21. The retiring matron and patron weie presented their past matron and patron jewels by Mrs. Walter Jackson and Mr. Mullet, alter which they were escorted to the altar to sign the memory page. The soloist sang "Walk With Faith In Your Heart" as they stood at the altar. Guests weie registered from Winamac, North Liberty, South Bend, Munster. Plymouth. Grovertown, Indianapolis, Biemen and Walkerton. A reception fallowed in the dining room where the tables were decorated with silver paper bird houses, scattered petals and florets in purple, lavender and white, the colors chosen by Mr.s. King. Cake, coffee and punch was served by Mrs. Leßoy Smith, Mrs. Dorothy Green. Mrs. Emma Sander, Mrs. Edward Devos and Mrs. Gerald Howard. The decorating committee was Mrs. Alfred Drews, chairman, Mrs. John Peterson. Mrs. Orvilkl Klinedinst. Mis. Mrs. Nellie Purdy received woid of the death of hei neice, Mrs. Fred Brandon of Bryan. Ohio who died there on Monday. Mr. Jerry Sheaks spent three days visiting his paients. Mr and Mrs. Harold Sheaks. Jerry makes his home in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Brooke Bowers has returned home from a weeks visit with Elder and Mrs. F.O. Sandeis of Lincoln, Nebraska. Elder Sanders is president of the Nebraska Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Sanders was formerly Mary Bowers, sister of the late Brooke Bowei s. Mr and Mrs. Russell Brown and Mis. Herman Henry were m Chicago on Monday to visit Mr. nad Mis Emil Vischi Mr. Vischi had just been dismissed from the hospital and recovering at home from a heart attack. Mis. Marie Roberts of Fort Wayne is a patient in the Lutheran Hospital, Fairfield, Avenue, Fort Wayne (Therapy Unit) following a severe stroke a week ago. Her condition is slightly improved. She would appreciate healing from Jier Walkerton friends.

Mr and Mrs. Raymond Beagles had for their supper guests last Thursday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hellinga, Tommy and Tammy of Middlebury; Mr. and Mrs Norman Beagles and Mis. Miller who was celebrating Timmie and Mrs Roy Miller. The occasion was in honor of her birthday Mr. and Mrs. Allen Seaholm and Mr. and Mrs. Acil Hunter returned home on Sunday after a two week vacation in Florida. They went down the east coast stopping at Cape Kennedy to see the sights and then on down the coast line to Plantation Keys and called on Mr. and Mrs. John McCombs. Coming back the west coast they stopped at Treasure Island and Dunelion where they went to see Rainbow Springs They also visited relatives and friends in various places and returned by wav of Bi) oxi where they were trying to restoie and rebuild after the hurricane Camille An enjoyable trip with line weather was enjoyed by all.

Dr. Hanni, Kevin Hanni, Jim Haitsough, Robert Urbin, Bruce Dayhuff, Ed Bick, Alan Backtel and several others attended the Fort Wayue Semi-State games on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Pat McNorton have moved to Wheeling. Illinois and Pat will be continuing his training for Woolworth's at Wilmette, Illinois. Their new address is 1109 S. Wolff Road, Wheeling, Illinois 60090. William F. Zlatos, 607 Harrison Street, Walkerton, was placed on the Distinguished Honor Roll at Indiana State University the first semester. Students earning a grade point average of 3.76 or above out of a possible 4.0 are named to the Distinguished Honor Roll for 12 or more semester hours The Koontz Lake Conservation Club meeting on Saturday’ will begin at 5:30 pm. CST at the Club House with Mrs Newell and Mrs. Hillis as hostesses. There were 36 present last Saturday for pot luck supper and social hour. Come on out and join the crowd on Saturday evening.
