Nuptial vows were repeated by diss Donna Sue Stephenson and •avid E. Shirk, Saturday, March during a two o’clock ceremony the Walkerton United Methoi.st Church. The double ring remony was read by Rev. Har:d Williams. The bride is the daughter of Jr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stephenson, dO Illinois Street, Walkerton nd is a graduate of John Glenn iigh School, Mrs. Louis Shirk and the late r Shirk. 321 South Field Avnue, Elkhart are the parents ! the groom. He attended Tyr High School and served two •ars in the U.S. Army, one yeat is spent in Vietnam. Apricot and white mums forled the altar piece. White sat- • bows marked the pews. The bride chose a gown of Angedmist taffeta and Venice lace with pull through satin ribbon. The Empire bodice was accented by a high lace stand-up collar and Bishop sleeves. The easy sheath skirt was laced trimmed. Hre lace Camolet cap held the Mantilli chapel train of English illusion. She carried a bible topped with a singel white orchid, stephanotis and satin streamers. She was given in marriage by her father. Miss Dianna Stephenson was her sisters maid of honor. Miss Jaquline Tetzl iff of South Bend was the bridesmaid. The attendants wore floor length gowns of apricot Karate and white Venice lace with a pull through matching satin ribbon at the high neckline and the elbow length sleeves. A flying back pmol topped with a self bow accented the A-line skirt. Their
head pieces were illusion wirer petals, hanging lilly-belle trim and hair braid and velvet ribbon loops which held the bustle type Moline veil. They carried cascades of white and apricot mums. Mr. Donald Shirk, RR 1, Walkerton, brother of the groom served as best man. Ushers were Gerald Creed, Walkerton; Mr. Jerry Cole, South Bend and Mr. Ross Devine of Angola, Indiana. Two hundred and fifty guests enjoyed a reception in the church social room following the ceremony. Mrs. Donald Shirk presided at the serving table and cut the four tiered cake. Mrs. Jerry Cole was in charge of the guest book. Following a short trip to the northern states the couple will be at home on RR 1, Walkerton. For her going away attire the bride chose a navy and white three piece suit with red accessories. Mr. Shirk is employed with Sollitt Construction Company in South Bend and his bride is employed with Jacob Drugs in Walkerton. The brides mother wore h pink linen dress with navy accessories. Mrs. Shirk was wearing a blue and white knit suit with black patent accessories. Both mothers wore white carnations and pink tea rose corsages. They were among 271 fulltime students carrying 12 or more semester-hours of credit work who ai hieved at least a 3.3 grade average for the semester (A-, B-3, etc.). Chris Is Six Chris Walker celebrated her 6th birthday on Saturday, March 7 in the home of her aunt, Mrs. Denise Watts who helped her mother, Mrs. Bertha Walker. Those who attended were Tammy and Tracy Williams, Dee Ann, Frank and Vince Feitz, Billy and Kenny Watts. Bridget Barden, Belinda Beasley, Raina Bridwell, Julie Cline, Marina Kickbush. Michelle Malstaff, Kim Rizek, Terri Stull, Cindy Kunkle, Jefferey South. Jeff Wickliff, Claudia and Joey Walker, Julie Bonifacius was unable to attend but sent a gift. Chris received many lovely gifts. Games were played and prizes were won by Raina Bridwell. Jeffery South, Terri Stull and Jeff Wickliff. Ice Cream, cake and punch and little treats were served.
