Dr. and Mrs. Robert F.nstermacher and tomily were In Indianapolis Sunday visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Owens and went sightseeing around Butler University. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fries entertained the following guests on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Weaver, Francisville; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Lantz, Harold King of Lal’orte and Mr and Mrs. Verne Komp’sek ut Griffith. The gentlement are state officers of the Indiana Volunteer Firemen's Association. Mr. Weaver, Chairman of District 9B; Mr. King, Chairman of District 3; Mr. Lantz, State Chaplin and Mr. Konopesek is the State Treasurer. Mr. and Mrs. WHliam H. Braty, o' Mulino. Oregon were the guests of honor at a family gathering on Sunday for a curry-in dinner at the beautiful Stunts Pine Forest Recreation O nter. A f ter a bountiful dinner at noon, all enjoyed a tour of the forest and spent the afternoon visiting, picture taking and playing games. Othera present besides the honored guests were, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hahn. Mrs. Robert Reeder. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty, Mrs. Regena Wells, Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn Sr. and children, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Williams and Penny, Mrs. Blanche Franson, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Malstaff and daughter, and Bibby and Richard Cole all of Walkerton. Also Mr. and Mrs. Leßoy Powers of LaPorte, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Farrer and son, Randy and friend and three granddaughters of Bremen. This was Mr. Beaty's first return to Walkerton in nearly thirty years. He is past eighty-eight and has just retired from active duty on a small farm in Oregon where he has lived since returning from Chile, South America where be worked as an electrical engineer for many years.

Robert Noitham and Northam and 'amity, Mr. and Mrs John Meal and family of Bloomfield and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Helton o f Govefton were Saturday visited o f Mrs. Eula Northam. Mr. and Mis. George L. Matz of R. R. 2, Walkerton will be moving to Moline, 111. Mr Matx was with the Cummins Engine Co. Inc. in South Bend whu closed their diors two weeks ago. Mrs. Matz will remain here with her two daughters until school closes Mr. and Mrs George FVrverda entertained at dinner for the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Keeling and family, Mrs. Wayne McCan and son o f Plymouth, Charles Ferverda, and Mrs. Jennie Giant of the Walkerton Nursing Home. Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Jacob and ■family were in Angola Sunday visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Jacob. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob just returned fmm Florida and a family gathering was enjoyed in their home Mrs. Edward Petersen, Koontz Lake was taken by ambulance to the Starke County Hospital in Knox, Saturday. Other area women in the same hospital are; Mrs. Robert Johnson und Mrs. Gearge Trapp, who suffered severe injuries in a two car crash, April 19 on U.S. 30. Mr. and Mrs. John Garab, Walkerton, attended Open House honoring the 90th birthday of Mr. Garab's mother, Mrs. Theresa Garab, held in the home o’ a daughter, Mrs. Mary Vantine in LaPorte, Sunday, April 27. Mrs. Garab was born in Hungarg April 24, 1879. She and her family came to South Bend in 1904 The family have resided in this area since coming to U.S.A. She has ten living children, eight of who were present Sunday, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is in ill health and makes her home with her daughter "Mrs. Ventine.

Roy R. Johson, Rt. 1, Hamlet, is also listed on the Dean’s List at Indiana University. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leßoy Johnson. Mrs. Fred Shultz and son of Cedarburg, Wisconsin spent the week end in Walkerton visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry M isterman und other relatives. Mr. und Mrs. John McCombs entertained at dinner Saturday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Swick of South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. George Hershberger and Mr. Harry Doll Thomas .a. cooney, am of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cooney, Rt. 3, Walkerton, is listed rm the Dean's List at Indiana University.
