Mr. and Mra. O. T. Carlson of Albert City, lowa were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph N. LaFeber from Monday to Wednesday. Mr. Russell Lawrence, Rt. 1, Walkerton, Koontz Lake, suffered a severe heart attack while enroute to Chicago Last Thursday and is under intensive care in St. Margarets Hospital in Hammond, Indiana. Rt. 2 Walkerton, entered the E Street Division hospital, La Porte on Tuesday for observation and treatment. Jim Betz and Mike Fitzgerald, carriers for the South Bend Tiibune were the two boys cln»en from the Walkerton area to an all expense paid trip to Chicago last Sunday. They went by bus from South Bend along with other Tribune carriers and attended the auto show. with dmner and evening meul included. Arthur McKesson was pleasantly surprised Sunday evening When members of his family came with gifts and refreshments including a big birthday cake. DAVIS RETURN FROM SAN FRANCISCO Mr. and Mrs. Keith Davis returned Saturday, March 8, from the national print ipals conference in San Francisco, California. Mr. Davis, principal of North Libert} High School and Gordon Nelson, principal of LaSalle High Scht*)l, represented the South Bend schools at the Nath nal Association <X Secondary Principals Conference. Ten thousand principals from all over the Cnited States attended thL» annual convention. The theme for the convention was "Secondary Education Ln An Environment Os Change”. The program in general consisted on a general session in the morning and evening, with outstanding, nationally known speakers, followed by smaller dA.wuasion sessions on various pertinent subjects in the afternoons. Highlights of the convention included adresses by Semi tor Edward Brooke and Dr. S. I. Hayakawa, acting president of Sun Francisco College, which is currently In the national spotlight. Following the convention Mr. and Mrs. Davis visited relative.* in I»s Angeles and San Diego, before returning home.
