To comply ► with State requirements, Mr. Houser requested reserved parking spaces within the immediate 1 area of the license bureau. • Following discussion. Board authorized establishment of 2 reserved parking stalls and on day I of driver tests an additional alleyspace be alloted by placement of a portable sign. Board designated the reserved and additional spaces be located ad- ! jacent to the alley of the MichI igan Street 400 block. Contract was renewed with Walter C. Hckavet for the year. 1969, granting Mr. Ihckavet dis- > posal priveleges at the municipal : dump for his established garbage and rubbish routes conducted outside the corporate limits, principally from the Koontz Lake area. Discussion was heard ii regards complaints of dogs roaming at large within the community with Board stressing that owner’s must confine their dogs on their properties or required ' action will by necessity be taken by the police Department. Minutes of previous meeting , were approved and outstanding claims pre. < nted and authorized payable from respective funds. Balance of meeting was spent in general discussions of town affairs and future planning and programming. Falcons Have 3 Games In Five Days The North Liberty Shamrocks will play two games this week end in a return to acth>n after the holiday break. Friday night they will play their first Northern State Conference game with Jimtown as the guest. The game will be played on the Shamrocks’ court starting with the preliminary at 6:15, North Liberty time. Saturday night a trip to Argos awaits the Shamrocks to again do battle with the B Team starting action at 6; 15 local time. The Shamrocks are hoping to keep their winning ways, winning their last decision prior to the holiday break.
Shamrocks Return To Action With P air Os Games After a three week vacation, the John Glenn Falcons will return to action m a big wav with three games in five days. Friday night, the Falcon- will travel to the Tyner gym to play OregonDavis. Game time for this contest is 7:15, Walkerhn time. Saturday night, another road game will find the Falmns playing Triton at the Plymouth gvm for a 6:45 pm. starting time. Tuesday night. January 14. Wanatah will visit Glenn for a game with the preliminary action starting at 7:15 Walkerton time. i WALKERTON (HIMBER OF COMMERCE MEETS TODAY The Walkerton Chamber of Commerce will be meeting today (Thursday i at the Paddle Wheel rest iurant at 12:00 noon, EST. This will be the first meeting under the new officers. The membership drive is also underway with the preliminary mailing expected to be completed this week. Once again the dues are SIO.OO for an individual or $35 00 for a business, covering more than one person. These can be paid at the Thursday meeting if desired. A good and active membership is the number one goal of the gr< up this year.

Jaycees Plan For Outstanding Educator Award Plans to select the outstanding young educator of Walkerton were announced today by Leon Verhaeghe of the Jaycees. The search is part of a nationwide Jaycee program to spotlight achievements and dedication of professional educators, both male and female, between the ages of 21 and 35. Educators of the first through the twelfth grade levels will be considered. Names for nominations may be received from anyone. Please send name and school address of educator you desire to nominate to D'on Verhaege, Ft It 3, Plymouth. Indiana. before J mu ary 12, 1969. Nominations will be judged locally by a panel of civic leaJers. The hs al winner will be honored at a special awards banquet. Local winner* from throughout the state will be eligible for a state competition, which will determine delegates to a nati-nil Outstanding Young Educator Program.
