December 21 in the First Pre - byterian Church, Walkerton with Rev. Kenneth Bergner performing the ceremony. Parent* of the bride are Mr. and Mrs Milton W. Sheppt d. 516 S. Main Street, Culver and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Johnson. 603 Van Buren Street. Walkerton. The bride was attired in a floor length gx>wn of white velvet with Empire waist. The I.ice trimming around the neck came to a point on the bodice and lace formed a V at the ends '4 the velvet sleeves. The detachable train of velvet was trimmed with matching lace at the top where it w us fastened to the gown Her three-tier veil of Illusion fell rom u ribbon b»-w trlmmt I with pearl icicles and lace. She carried a cascade of gardenias, red roaes and pine. Attending her sister as maid of honor was Miss Sally Sheppard, of Culver, who wore a green velvet gown made with Empire waist with white lace trim. She carried a white muff with holly and red carnations and her headpiece was a holly wreath. Bridesmaids were Miss Janice Moran, cousin of the bride, of Skokie, 111., and Miss Karen Ruhnow They wore red velvet gowns made like that of Min Sheppard and they also carded white muffs with holly and red carnations and had holly wreath headpieces. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the Eagles' bdgr at Culver, after which the couple left for a short trip. After Dec. 26 they will be at home at 613’- Roosevelt Rd.. Walkerton. The bride graduated from Culver High School and her husband from Walkerton High School. Chamber Will Meet January 9 At Paddle Wheel The Walkerton Chamber < f Commerce will meet next on Thursday, January 9. at the Paddle Wheel Restaurant for their regular January meeting. Adult Education Classes Planned At John Glenn An adult Education program for both credit and non-credit classes will be conducted by the Polk Lincoln-Johnson School Cor p oration beginning in January according to an announcement made by Superintendent of schools. Dr. Robert Hanni. Classes will commence the week of January 27 with the schedule to be published as Soon as available. Each class will be three hou’s. one night a week, for 15 weeks. They arc open to anyone in the area who wishes to register. A minimum < 12 student- will be required to operate each class. Registration may be made by phoning the Guidance Office at John Glenn High School, 536-3195 or calling at the school in person or writing. High School credit courses include High School English, High School Social Studies, Typing I and 11. Also, Music theory for credit or non-credit will be offered. A fee of $5 CM) will cover costs including book rental Several general interest courses will be provided if there is enough interest. Exact fees will be determined later, but will be minimal. They will be Developemental (Speed) Reading, an Ait Course, a class in Antiques, and Sewing. To be presented free of charge will be a course in Modern M dh for parents, a work shop sponsored by the S< h’-ol Corporation. List Winners Os Christmas Decorations The Christmas decorating contest sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce with the following winners being named.
