Culver Powers Pasi Shamrocks Saturday 67-55 Culver’s Cavaliers, a strong team put together this year by reorganization, handed the North Liberty Shamrocks their fifth sfaight loss of the season and I the first by the total of more than two points. The final score of this game was 67-55 as the Cavaliers took charge of the game in the second quarter to pull steadily ahead to victory. The Shamrocks jumped to an early lead, but rather a different one as the Shamn»cks didn't convert a free throw until 5:19 was left in the game. The lack of points via the foul line hurt coniderabh in this gume as several chances to stay right in the game were missed by this means. Pugh opened the scoring in the game as the former Monterey high scorer hit a shot right after the tip off. Ronnie Young wasted no time in getting the basket back as he tossed one in for the Shamrocks. They moved ahead as Kevin Hostetler hit a basket only to have Pugh come back with a Culver two-pomter From here the Shamrocks moved to the lead by a 14-6 margin as Hostetler hit one basket, Anderson three and Young one basket while thigh was getting Culver’s two points on free throws. This gave the Shamrocks the lead at •he quarters's end. Pugh hit first In the second period as the Cavaliers started their push to take the lead 26-22 it halftime Anderson had all but two of the Shamrock points in the second period as thev only <<,red eight points 'n this I quarter. Anderson Hits 28 Chria Anderson easily took game scoring honors with 28 points, more than half the Shamrocks total. No other member of the team made double figures. Culver's attack was much more txilanced with four members of the squad in double figures with Szponar’s 19 leading the way. Haenes has 18, Pugh 16 and Wamsley 11 to account for all but three of the Culver total, these gathered by the fifth starter, Bauer. Box Score North IJ be ri y fg ft ft* p C.
