Walkerton Town Board News The Board of Trustees of the Town of Walkerton convened in regular session, Tuesday Evening, December 3rd, with full membership present. Minutes of the previous session were approved. Outstanding claims were presented for consideration and inspection and following snme were authorized payable from respective funds. Police activities report for month of November was presented and accepted for filing as follows: 4 property damage traffic accidents; 8 traffic arrests; 8 parking tickets; 7 warning tickets; 5 traffic complaints; n special details; 8 funeral details; 3 fires; 12 assists to motorists; 12 messages delivered; 5 attempts to locate; 15 motor checks; 19 miscellaneous complaints; 4 permits to salesmen; 35 business Irregularities; 7 lost articles reported; 6 articles found; 15 assists to other departments; 4 dog complaints; 3 dogs disposed; 3 disorderly conduct complaints; 8 family complaints; 2 vandalism complaints; 2 run a ways; 2 licenses recovered; 2 warrants served; 2 car impounded; 3 store thefts; 4 juvenile complaints; 2 juvenile complaints; 2 juvenile a rests; 2 burglaries; 5 Illness; 5 illness complaints; pat nJ car mileage - 2,951. Original draft o^ proposed junk vehicle nuslance ordinance was presented by Town Attorney D. D. Goheen for review by the board. Following discussion additional supplements were requested to the proposed ordinance with final draft o' the ordinance to be submitted for consideration and possible passage at the next of icial meeting. Approval was given the developers of the Glenn-L Estates addition to run a sewer main from addition and connect to existing sewer main al corner of Illinois and Ohio Street. Developer* were further given permission to install a necessary lift pump at this connecting point as suyrvey of the area inpotnt as survey of the area Indicated necessity of installation to property service the new addition. In further business the Board authorized the procurnnce of services of the Boj-d Const raid ion Company of Hobart, Indi ma to lay m approximate 3300 'eet of I water mains consisting of 1700 feet from Washington Street tn a deadend in the Industrial Park and from this new main along West Virginia Street extent x • 800 feet length of mains down alleys of the Glenn-L Estates Addition. I NL School TB Seal Sale Begins Students in the North Liberty Elementary School again have an opportunity to purchase Christmas Seals this year, as in past years. The drive opens on Mondav, December 2. with homeroom teachers having seals available for the students to purchase. Mrs Richard Stump, second grade teacher, is the general Chairman of the sales for the school this year. Casteel, sun <»f Mr. and Mrs. Harry Casteel. 505 Van Buren St., Walkerton. The R»v. Kaye Castertine performed the double ring ceremony, assisted by Kev. Charles Kramer before an altar decorated with palms, candlelabra, and baskets of bronze and gok> mums, candles and greenery tied with white jatic b-ws marked the pew * Preceding ti e marriage vows, organ music was provided by Mis- Karen Thompson and Mrs. Kenneth Klinedinst was soloist. Th* bride, given In marriage by her father wore a gown nt Chantilly lace, fashioned with !<>ng fitted sleeves and an Empire waistline trimmed in front with a «n 'll lace bow. Clusters ot seed p iri s and irides ent sequins outlined the scalloped sabrina neckline. The A-linr skirt wis highlighted with vertical panels of scalloped lace trimmed with clustered sequins. Small bows at the shoulders held the bride's detachable chapel-length train of lace edged with s. ill 'ped lace. Re-embroid-ered lace petals outlined with seed pearls and touched with crystal beads secured the bride’s bouf mt Illusion veil. Paul Gjemre, was best man and Lloyd Kmwltun, and Rand} Williams served as groomsmen. Fred Casteel. brother o' tht groom and Wayne Stoneburner, counsin of the bride were ushers. A reception for 200 guests wa held following the ceremony in the chuieh social hall. Lauri< Klinedinst, sister of the brid< was in charge of the gues, bock' and Jeffrey Knox and Jeffrey Stoneburner were in charge oi the gifts. Following a short wedding trip the couple will be at home at 505 Van Buren Steet, Walkerton. Both are graduates <f John Glenn High School. Falcons Play At Home And On Road The John Glenn Falcons, still seeking their first win of the 196&-69 basketball season, wdll have a pair of games this week end as they get back In the swing of things following the Thanksgiving holiday. On Friday night, a good Bremen team will visit for a 6:45 B Team game start. This team promises to be a good one this year but at present are playing without Ju I Robinette, who Is recovering from a football injury. On Saturday night, one of the new opponents on the Glenn schedule will be the npp n- nt. Cooperating Groups Help Needed For Christmas Party An urgent message to the organizations supporting the annual Halloween - Christmas parties given for the bene it of the children of our community. If you have not sent your contribution to the chairman of the committee, please do so at once. Time is running out, an i Santa Claus has been contacted. Salvation Army Kellie Drive To Start Saturday The annual Salvation Army Kettle Drive for Walkerton will begin this Saturday and run for three consecutive Siturdays with the kettles being placed at the corners by Jacob Drug St* re and Dave & Ray’s Supermarket. The Chamber of Commerce will man the kettles this first Saturday. This annual drive is the only money raising the 1* cal Salvation Army group has in doing their work not cnly at Christmas time, but all year round. Your contributions as you pass the kettles will be greatly appreciated. NL Invitational Wiesfling Tonmey This Saturday The North Liberty High School wrestling team will host seven other schools in an invitational wrestling tournament this Saturday at the High School gym. The meets will start with weighins at 8:00 a.m. CST. At 9:15 CST the first round matches will begin. Visiting teams competing with the hosts are Bremen, Lakeland, Jimtown, Marian Munster, North Judson and Plymouth. After the opening matches, a ■lunch break will be held and at 12:15 the second round will begin on one mat and challenge matches on the other mat. The finals will start at 3:15 with the tourney expected to be over with presentation of team awards at 5:30. All first round matches will consist o' three one-minute matches. The second will consist of 1. 2 and 2 minute periods with challenge matches being three one minute periods. The finals will also have the 1, 2 and 2 minute periods. Admission will be 75c per session of $1.50 for the day (3 sessions). All tickets will be available at the door but only season tickets will be sold in advance. NL Lions To Meet Monday Wi h Ladies The North Liberty Li ms will hold their December meeting with a dinner meeting at Dudeck s Country Rest uimnt in North Liberty. The will be a ladies- night meeting, and all Lions are urged t > be present along with their wives The dinner meeting will begin at 7 pm.
