Chris Anderson Hits 24 Chris And«i> n hit 24 point for the Shamrocks and was by far the outstanding factor .'or them in the game. He scored on nine baskets and six of seven from the foul line. No other Shamrock hit in double figures. Stombaugh hit 21 fur the Bobcats on nine baskets and three of five from the 15 foot stripe. Cooper also was in double figures with 12 points or OD. Falcons Fall To Culver Mili’aiy In Thriller 63-56 A lute rally by the Culver Military Academy Eagles turned a game around that found the jm».h nn rincons .enutng ;rom the ca Hy second quarter until the closing minutes Ha Culver went on to a 63- 56 victory. The game was the ftrst for both teams and the first athletic contest In the new Glenn Gymnasium. Not omy did the Academy's basketball teams come to help open the new gym. but two other special attractions were present. Phi! Eskew, the commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association was present and ■dedicated the new gym prior to the start of the varsity ball game. The Academy DriH team, a very sharp contingent of boys, thrilled the crowd with a performance at halftime of the varsity game. making the evening a very enjoyable one for e vei ycne. Culvers comeback bid was paced by two fine players. J< Im Crimmins and Bryce laylor. Crimmins paced the catch-up ball the Eagles had to play an 1 Taylor put in eight straight points to put the Cadets ahead for good in the final minutes of the game. CMA's big boys didn't hit the boards good in this period and the Falcons took advantage of this to maintain a lead. The lead was opened up to seven points on three dis erent occasions before Crimmins began putting the Eagles right back in the battle with his shooting. A six point burst, four by Crtmmins, cut the lead to 43-42 with :31 showing on the clock, only to have Hanni hit again with just 14 sceon is remaining in the quarter to give the Falcons a 45-42 margin at the end of three periods. The fourth and final stanxa was thrill-p«< ked all the way. Hugh Geren hit a 'ree throw to open the quarter and Groves followed with a 16 looter.
