Club To Hear Life Story Os John J. Audubon At the next regular rm ting of the Walkerton Woman's Communtiy Club on Friday, S* pt. inb* 1 20, M s. Hans Hohn, ParUft* mentarian of the St. Joseph County Executive Committee, will talk on the life of John James Audubon. The name of Audubon has be-n made known to the man in the street by t.ie National Associaton of Audubon Societies and many school children have become better informed about birds because of him. He is called "The American Woodsman.” a pionwr in conservation of wild life. He is the author of the famous book "The Birds of America,” first published in 1827. Ind., a Htud- nt at Indiana University in Bloomington has completed Army Reserve Officer's Training Corps sunnn-r camp. The course ended July 29 at Ft. Riley. Kan. Dunn*' in* 1 n> h -o ceived six weeks of training in leadership, rifle marksmanship, physical conditioning and other military subjects. Upon successful completion of summer camp and graduation from college, he is eligible to b** commission *d as a second lieu tenant hi the U.S Army. Ind. completed nine we ks of advanced infantry training Julv 12 at Ft. Polk, La. His last week of training was sp*nt in guerrilla warfare exercises. During his guerrilla training, he lived under simulated Vietnam conditions for five days, fighting off night attacks and conducting :xids on "enemy'' villag* s. He was taught methods of removing booby traps, setting ambushes and avoiding ememy ambushes. Other sp cialized training included small unit tactics, map reading, land mine warfare, communications. and firing the M 11 riHo. M-60 machine gun and the 3.5 inch rocket launcher.
