Students may pick their annual up between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Senior pictures will be taken thia Friday. August 23, at the Harold C. U>\v Middle School. Those students who won't be able to have their pictur- taken that day will be rescheduled for a later date. North Liberty Elementary Registration Any child who is entering the North Liberty Elementary School for the first time is to register at the office besom August 30, on any week day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Children coming from other schools are ask'd to bring the last report card along at the time of registration. Kindergarten chiidr-'n must have their birth certificate record'd by the school and present all mdical examination and health history papers befoi" they will be enrolled. A thr"e day session will be held on Se ptember 3, 4. and 5, for this purpose, with classes to begin for the kindergarten on Friday. September 6. Registration conferences will be arranged by the school secretary with all parents of kindergarten children for a time during one of the above th re days. Mrs. Phyllis Davis, kindergarten teacher, will meet with each parent and child, to complete the registration. The conference times will be arranged during the week of August 19-23. No public bus transportation is provided for kind Tgarten children, according to the policy of the Board of Trustees of the South Bend Community School Corporation. The regular sessions for N > th Liberty students will begin on Tuesday. Septemb r 3. As in the past, this will be an orientation day, with students in school for a short time in th" forenoon, with full day sessions beginning on Wednesday, September 4. Transportation Schedule Set For PLJ Schools The bus schedule for the Polk-Lincoln-Johnson Corporation for th° 1968-69 school year will d"liver students to the high x-hool at 8:00 a.m., the Walkerton elementary school <k through 3i at 8:05 am., and the Ur-y School (formerly John Glenn High School) al 8:15 a.m. to take 4th and sth graders to Tyner School. All 4th and sth grade students will assembb* at Uiey School. Rural students will ride their regular bus to Urey School and then ride a shuttle bus to Tyn -r. The exception to this plan are those 4th and sth graders riding Mr. Dip'-t s bus. The.** students will be delivered to the Tyner School by Mr. Dipert on his way tv Walkerton and will also be picked up each afternoon on the return from Walkerton, thus eliminating the shuttle ride these students. 4th and sth grad- students living in Walkerton will report to Urey School anJ board a shuttle bus to Tyner. The shuttle buses will leave Tyn«i at 2:55 pin and i-turn to Urey School so that rural students might board their regular buses for return to their homes. The afternoon schedul" will have buses leaving Urey at 3 15. Ekmentary School at 3:20 and John Glenn High School at 3 25. All students living in Tyner, except 4th and sth graders, will meet at the Tyner School and will ride to Walkerton on a bus to b- driven by Mr. Ruy Hals“y. The** students will return to Tyner at the end of the school day on the some bus. Transportation will not be provichd fat the students living in Walkerton who will b- attending John Glenn High School. The first day of school for kmd* LtrPn students will be Tii"sday, Sept. 3. Paints may pick up the morning kindergarten stud' nts at 10 15 am., and afternoon students at 245 pm. All Walkerton kindergarten students will attend the ah' noon s ssi >n and rural students’ will attend the morning session. Walkerton Town Board News The Board of Trustees of the Town of W ilkerton convened in regular session, Tu- sday evening, August 20th, with full attendam e of the board. Sreet improvement contract was awarded to Unit -d Blacktop Pavers. Inc. of Westville to single seal 20-1,164 sq. ft. of asphalt st.eet; 13.010 sq. ft. of prim" and double seal; 5.621 sq. ft. of asphaltic concrete of approximate 85 tons. The specified work totaling $9.91603. Board was assured by successful bidd ■ • that work would be perfornod within the immediate futur •. Authorization was given to procure' price quotations from local contractors tu replace pi sent concrete steps and canopy at the Community Building entrance. Quotations are also to be requested to paint the trim of the building. Bttard is hopeful of procuring services of contractor to do this needed wvrk during the current season. Following review of various equipment.
