Law And Order Training For CD Police A nine week course on law and order training for Civil Defense police began on July 15 and is being held at the Civil Defense Headquarters, 21370 AV Irvington Street. Sweden, returned to the I’.S.A. this summer to visit her very go<Ki friends and her adopted parents, Mr. and Mrs. Verne who sponsored her as an exDaniels. of Decauter, Michigan, change student for her senior year of high school at Decauter wo years ago. The Daniels who ate former Walkerton residents shared Gorel with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pickavet and family. Lynn. Doris Ann and Walter Jr., who reside in Walkerton. During her year here she made many friends in Walkerton and appeared before many clubs and organizations. The lovely 18 year old blond Miss worked last summer to make enough money to return to Michigan and Indiana this summer for two months. She will begin her second year of college this fall where she hopes to major in Literature with a Masters Degree in two more years. Last school year a younger sister of Miss Bostrand attended high school in Detroit as an exchange student. Miss Bostrand arrived at the Detroit Air Terminal on June 23 and was met by the Daniels. After a few days greeting old class mates and fi lends, they went to Florida where they visited the Daniels son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Daniels. The past few days Miss Bostrand has been a guest in the Pickavet home, where her hostess entertained with two Coffee's in her honor. Wednesday Mrs. Pickavet invited members of the Dorcas Circle of Presbyterian Church and Thursday a.m. a large number of friends were entertained. Gorel is far more advanced in education than if she had had all her schooling in America, she .speaks 4 languages and plans to become a teacher of literature.
