Worthy Matron, Mrs. Irene Lidy opened the meeting with Edgar Guest’s poem, "How you Live" and greeted visitors from other chapters as: Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Pavey, members of North Liberty Chapter; Mrs. Edith Kuhlwein of Forrestville Chapter, Chicago, and Mrs. Mary Griffin of Orient Chapter, LaPorte. The charter was draped and memorial was given for Cora B. Holland of Angola, Ind., who served as Worthy Grand Matron of the Indiana Grand Chapter in 1919. Following dosing Mrs. Lidy conducted a skit honoring Fathers present. Fathers Day. Each father present was given a boutonniere of a lace doilie encircling a "Pop Pops” all day sucker by the Conductress’s. As Mrs. Lidy returned from donating to the Birthday Bank. Mrs. Robert King presented her with a birthday gift from her officers. Mrs. Lidy had a birthday. Juno 15th. During the social hour that followed the meeting, the tables were decorated with sryofoam birthday cakes, decorated with red rose buds, honoring the Worthy Matron. Hosts were Mr. and Mrs. James Verkier, Mrs. David Mellin, Mis. Denslow D<>ll and Mrs. Paul Jones. Inspection of Walkerton North Libi ity and New Carlisle will be held July, 1 at the North Liberty Chapter at 8 p.m. There will be no meeting of th" Walkerton Chapter until Sept. 3. 1969. Hany Malstaff Named Outstanding Catholic Layman The Outstanding Catholic Lay-; man of the year award was pre sented to Harry W. Malstaff b the St. Patrick Council 5709 Knights of Columbus. The hono was bestowed on Harry Malstat by Rev. Anthony Letko, counc chaplain. A dinner preceded th program at Ihe Paddle Whe« Restaurant. Harry is one of the four found ers of the council in Walkcrto and was a member of the Walk erton Knights Club before thee received council status. Present ly he is serving as district deput of District 6. and he has bet i grand knight of the Walkerti Council. Harry Malstaff resides at R.l 3. Walkerton, with his wife an 2 children.
