Do The Parents Know!

Time and time again, the subject <<f vandalism has been a topic of our though* and time again, such acts continue, almost unknown. This especially is true when it hits close to home, whether one's personal pr< petty or just an act that you know of that causes damage 1 . In the past few weeks, 17 windows have been broken at the Walkerton Lions Club Youth Building. This i>n't the m< st expensive act of this type that can be done, but certainly a costly one for a service organization to have to contend with from time to time. This isn't the first time windows have been broken in this building and it won’t be the last with a playground nearby. However, one thought has come to mind. Do the parents of the children doing things like this know that their children are or even could be doing such things

such as this. It is not known who is responsible for this a< t, but it appears like it has been due basically by younger children as opposed to older te< nagers. The responsibility of a parent and their children is often a far cry from being what it should be simply due to the fact that parents a rent aware of their children's actions. Often they aren't aware of their children’s friends, where they spend their leisure time, or so forth. From such as this can come such an act. It is not the desire to prosecute a child for an act such as this, but rather to help this child overcome such misdoings. If many parents knew their children were doing such as this, it would never happen. The little slogan on TV when the curfew time comes, is worth its weight in gold: “Do you know where your child is?”
