fZ’ Our Thought For You J Thousands of families try to leave everyday worries, frets and frustrations behind every year as they vacation all over the country. S4me people don’t come back. Reports of downings are seen - everywhere. Nearly all such tragedies are needless and can be avoided. A family we know has used a simple safeguard for years. We think the idea is a good one and pass the thought along to you . . . Purchase a block of “pyrofoam” - 18 by 12 by 4 inches. Wrap EXTRA STRONG twine SECURELY around it. Attach another similar EXTRA STRONG string of twine. 10 or 12 feet long, to the cushion float with the other end tied SECURELY to the waist of the swimmer. If the swimmer tries, the float eatl be easily and quickly pulled in so the swimmer can comfortably rest on it. If serious distress occurs, a companion (who should have'a float of his own) can reach the victim safely and the two floats can help both to shore. This 4s not just a thought on safety. It is prudence vs. !m« prudence. In saving a life, perhaps your own, here Is no shama in timidity dr caution. Safety is always better than sorrow!
