T II E LEGION CORNER Th< 1967 amendments to the fen-ial Security Program have made it easier for the younger worker to bec<»me eligible for disability benefits. We need help in trying to Pirate these young workers who became disabled before their 31st birthday. Any person who became dis- , bled at the age of 24 or earlier would only need to work a year nd half out of the three year । eimd preceding the date that they became disabled. legion Boys State is an activity of high educational value, born out of a need for youth training in practical citizenship, In a Lw weeks, many manhours of American Legion work and dedication as. well as huge sums of money will, go into this program. Boys State is considered as one of the most outstanding prgrams offered by The American Legion. legionnaires as well as all citizens must remember that whether we of this generation like it or not. the young men and women attending high school and college now wall eventually be the c hosen leaders of this land. Boys State brings future goals within sight by developing civic leadership and pride in American Citizenship: by arousing a keen interest in the detailed study of our government; by stressing the importance of maintaining >ur form <>f government and by bringing a full understanding of maintaining of our American traditions and beliefs in the United States of America to the more than 27.000 youth who participate each year.
