Special musical numbers will be provided for eat h night of the service. Churches Combine For Vacation Bible School A larger than ever Vacation Bible Schoo] is being planned tor Walkerton this year. The United Methodist Church and the First United Pr< ^byterian Church have j' ined togethi r for a unified program. There will be a one wavk session beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m each day from June 10 through June 15. Children will bring a sack lunch each day. Plans include a picnic for the children on Sat., June 15 and a coni hiding program Sunday evening June 16. Directors of the two churches who are Working together are Mrs. Leigh Roy Hahn of the United Methodist Church and Mrs. David Whaley of the First United Presbyterian Church. The theme. "He Has Made Everything." will be carried through the various activities ranging from lessons, visual aids, crafts, and music. All children ages 4 years through eighth grade are invited to attend. Babysitting is available for children of teachers and helpers. Classes will be divided between the churches. Anyone interested in helping with Vacation Bible School may contact Mrs. Hahn or Mrs. Whaley. Plan Marriage Enrichment Program The Commission on Education of the United Methodist Church will be sponsoring a Marriage Enrichment beginning this Sunday, April 21. The sessions will be held for six Sunday evenings at 7 o’clock in the Illinois Street building. The program is for pt rsons of all ages who desire to bnng new depth and meaning into their marital relationship. Any married couple < r person may alien'!. Some of the area.- for consideration will be: formula for building love; communications in the home; understanding ousclvi s; sexuality in marriage; acceptance, maturity, and responsibility: dollars and sense; rearing emotionally healthy children, and sex education in the home. Rev. Robert Ryler Featured Speaker At N. L. Church > - • ~ I Rev. Robert O. Byler served as a missionary to Argentina for twi nty years and has had a wide musical and evangelistic ministry in both North and South America While on the field he had a preaching and teaching ministry in Hie city of Buenos Ains. A new church work in the Capital was begun first'jn his home ;r later moved to more adequate quarteis. He had an active participation in -me of the first Summer Camp programs of that country. He was also co-founder of a radio ministry that now reaches all over Argentina and most <>f South and Central America. Under his direction, a modern Gospel Recording Studio Was erected and now has an effective ministry of preparing ladio and TV programs, film distribution. and cooperation in Citywide evangelism crusades. Rev. Byler has directed choral groups for radio programs, has reived as song leader and solist, as well as choir director for many evangelistic meetings. He prepared and directed a thousand voice choir for the Billy Graham Crusade in Buenos Aires in 1912; Served as soloist-song leader in Crusades in Mexico with Evangelist Fernando Vangioni in 1966; and spent two months in Puerto Rico preparing an 800 voice choir for the Graham Crusade in San Juan in 1967. He has been in extension d< put at ion work for a year and a half. One of the younger in a family of ten children.-his father was a ' home missionary, evangelist and music teacher and the family sang together in sacred concerts all over the USA, Mexico and Canada while he was but a youngster. While in College, he sang in a quarm giving concerts extensively. They also furnished music for the radio program, Your Worship Hour." Graduating from Goshen College in 1945, he was married in 1946 and with , his wife, took a Missions Course al Moody Bible Institute. He was one of the original singers in Don Hustad’s musical program, "Songs in the Night." In 1948 with their young daughter. Susan the Bylers sailed to Argentina. Four other children wen- born theic.
