Seminary. Having served for 18 years as a pastor in both Michigan and Georgia churches before becoming the college president in 1959. Dr. Welch has .served as chairman of the Council ot Fourteen of the 1200 - ( hurt h Gt neral Association of Regular Baptist Churches, as a member of the General Council of the i(H) - missionary Baptist Mid-Mission agency, and as a member of the board of the Hiawatha Baptist Mission. He has given leadership in the growth of the school from a three-year Bible Institute to a foui year Bible College and has led in the purchase and d velopmt nt of a new 94 acre campus, plus academic developments in- < ludin 1 full nv mbership with the Accrediting Association of Bit i Colleges. Dr. Welch is scheduled to preach twice in the afternoon, speaking at 115 on “The Cross, The Foundation of Our Riches,” and at 2:00 on "The Cross, The Fulness of Our Salvation.” The host pastor, Rev. Walter J. Claeys, writer of “The Pastor s Study” articles appearing in each isue of The Independent New’, also announces a fellowship,

carry-in supper, 6:30, after which Dr. Welch will preach on "The Importance of Christian Education in the Local Church.
