K L News IJons Club News The Lions Chibs of District 25A held their 13th annual convention on the campus of St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana, Sunday, March 31st. During this all day session, the ladies were entertained while the men tended to the business and the electing of Gene Rice of Wanatah, District Governor for District 25-A. Those attending from the Koontz Lake Lions Club were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Borrelli, Mr. and Mrs. Edw'in Jacobson, Mr. George Lanphere, Mr and Mrs. Wilbur Mullet. Thornburg, Ext**nMon Homemakers Meet The Koontz Lake Extension Homemakers met March 25th at the home of Mrs. Fravel Greenawalt with ten members present. Mrs. Fred Cook gave the health and safety report on home fires and hnw important it is to have home fire drills; also to be sure all children know how to call the fire department. for the sale. April 4th, starting at 10:30 a m. there will be a lesson on recovering of shoes. This will be held at the Grovertown Conservation Club. May 6-10 is Home Economics week and there will be a program of interest to the high school girls. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Lavern Young and Mrs. Richard Shaffer. Refreshments, in the Easter Motif, were served by the hostess. (Mb Scout News Cub Scout Troop 337 met at thu Scout building in Grovertown. March 27. for their annual Pine Wood Derby, and monthly pack meeting. Den No. 3 opened the meeting with a flag ceremony. Dens No. 2 and No. 3 put on skits about local rivers and three of the largest in the world. The group sang On The Banks of The Wabash." Five heats were run for the derby and the winners wore: No. 1 Kevin Anderson. No. 2 Philip Shaffer. No. 3 Mark Pulliam. No. 4 Carl Rosander, No. 5 Russell Bacewic. 1 A mn off was held and the first place trophy W'inner was ' Russell Bacewic and second place, ’ Mark Pulliam. Judges, George Lanphere, Jerpme Howard and • Robert Hilliam selected the car I made by John Briggs and his i father as the best decorated and he was awarded a blue ribbon. Mr. Leo Blevins and Mr. Arthur Blevins are Mrs. Varga’s uncles. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Anderson returned home last Monday eveafter spending the winter months in their home in New Smyrna Beach. Florida. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Bregi had as their Sunday dinner guests, their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. H. Ebbens and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Statola and son of Oaklawn, Illinois. Master Seargent E8 Paul Flowers, has returned to the states after a tour of duty in South Viet Nam. Mr. Flowers is the brother of Mrs. Walter Clark and lives in South Bend. His next tour of duty will be at Ft. McDill, Tampa. Fla. Celebrates 7Hth Birthday Mr Henry Lipke celebrated his T^th Birthday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lipke on Saturday, March 30th. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Moore and family of Peru, Indiana and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Czerpaniat and son of Chicago came to help their father celebrate.
