More than 83 boys and gtria 7 to 14 yenra of age, enrolled in the Walkertisi Jffcee Shooting Education Program. Wyman Hochstetler, Jayeen general chairman, expressing pleasure at the large turnout for the program-national-ly co-sp<»nsored by the U.S Jaycees and Daisy Manufacturing Company also locally by the Walkerton Jayci'es and Kabelin Hardware-said, "Saturday more than righty three boys and girls learned the basic rules of gun handling. The group then participated in a shooting league. In the 7to 10 age group first place and a new B B gun went to Delbert Fry, second Todd Hobbs, third Jeff I^ißere. fourth Tony Denny, and fifth Kelly Bussie. Hicks, third Richard Kunkle, fourth Linda Zahm. and fifth Jim Stepro. The second thmught fourth place winners received model kits and fifth place winners receiving official Daisy BB targets. The ten tup scorers of each group then shot m a shoot-off for the grand prise donated by Claude Houser. The result was a tie for the grand prise beween Todd Hobbs iuid David Schmeltz. An additional shout <df was then held with David Bchmelts winning the giand prise. With such a large response to the program the Walkerton Jayceea hope to expand the ahooting progrum to provide mote marksmanship training for the 7 to 11 age group and other intel rated age groups at a later date.
