Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Snyder have returned after one month vacation in Calfornia. Mrs. Gertrude Soualey was the Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fults at Bremen. Saturday in Goshen General Hospital, Goshen, after an illness of one year. He was a retired employee of the South Bend Lithe Co. He was born on Max 6, 1896, in Hungary and had lived here 56 years, coming from Hungary. His wife, Mary died on March 27, 1946. Surviving are three sons, Joseph Hartman Jr. and Frank Hartman, both of Rolling Priarie, and Anton Hartman of South Bend; four daughters, Mrs. Harry Curtis of Walkerton, Mrs. Edward Meldel of Mishawaka, Mrs David Gubi of South Bend and Mrs. Frank Nyikos of Syracuse, Ind.: 19 grandchildren: a great-grandchild; and a half-brother, Stephen Mohacsek, of South Bend. Ziegler, died nt 12 30 pm Thursday in Memorial Hospital after a one-month illness. She was 82. L>ng active in civic, social and philanthropic organizations in the community Mr* Ziegler had resided in South Bend 80 years coming from Walkerton at the age of two with her parents. She was born April 18. 1885, in Walkerton On June 6. 1905 in South Bend, aa Mabel L Place, she married Granville W. Ziegler. president of the former South B- nd Lumber Co. and N itmnal Lumber Co. Winnill, who survives. Also surviving are two sons. Harold of Michigan City and Charles of South Bend; four daughters, Mrs. Lynn Hopper of Osseola. Mrs. Ray Walsh of Decatur, Ga.. Mrs. Marvin Gregg of Lakeville and Mrs. Kenneth Gardner of Walkerton; a brother. Gerald, of Likville; a sister. Mrs. Merle Zehner, of Walkerton and 14 grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesdax- in the pine Creek Church of the Brethren with Rev. John A McCinnick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery.
