In the first contest, we we another ding dong battle between LaVilie and Bremen, two team.s that have met twice on the .amr f|<w»r with About the anm<* finish each time. L«Vilh ha* w< n both in th< dying s c«»n;is and for M>me n-as n we can see them doing it again but once more in a repl n»< kem. Kockem battle. In the second game twn whcdules that wail Ie .nt. . ng their ln-.t tourney a individuals team but who will put player- <n the same team next vear. will nu*et. Aubb< . n iiibbe. and Monterey will go at it and in a game you could about flip a <oin for a winner. w< will go along with Monterey. COMES THURSDAY NIGHT, the big and we do mean big Knox team will take the floor ag.rn t LiCniss. and easily h nib th Lapnrt* County entry in tins meet. Th- second garrn ftalures Culver against North Judson. These two squads met . n December 2 and Culver broke into th< win column with a 45-44 thriller. However, progress of the season hasn’t found Culver b.efmg up their offense much hut North Judson seems to have progressed to som. extent. We regretfully say that we can sc»* a little revenge in the Blue Jays eves and look for them to win this contest. SATURDAY IT LOOKS easier for Winamac in the first gam. with a win to advance them to the finals. Knox should al>. move with ease again against their opponent t<> set up the final game between Winamac ami Kn x Depitc the fad that Winamac won rather handily over Knox in the first meeting, this one for all the marbles is something ehe. In what should be a r« al h >t < ne, our choice will be Winamai in a real close one. SOUTH BEXD. ALWAYS A med that means a ]< t of fans of this area is set for an eight team battb with no clear cut favorite.
On Wednesday, wc like Mishawaka over ("lav, and Central over Washington Thursday, St. Joe should top a very up and down Riley team and LaSalle Is our choice over Adams' (>n Saturday Central should down Rih y team and LaSalle is our choice over Adams. On Saturday. Central should brecj> in the afternoon and we see LaSalle c >ming <>n to beat St. Jojo ph in a reversal of an earlier minting. At night, well, can you heat against Central in a hairnev ? DoMpite the fad that things very small, their sjHS’d. shooting and savvy will mean a lot and wr see th"m returning to Elkhart the following week after missing last year. JUST GLANCING AROPND the area, we can see Logansport coming out of their meet. Valparaiso at Chesterton Michigan <' tv should make their annual pl 'rimagc tn the Reek mis in their tourney, and nt Elkhart, an thing coul 1 happ n. but thoughts in our mind is that perhaps the Goshen team < tn avoid that Elkhart gym jinx and make another of th-ir rar.- t’ip to the Ri p nal at Wa-s »w. It is about time th< high-sc< ring Aki. r. t«am come- through with one even thou h Ro< hester has been a good Lam in th« last p irt of the wn- > n. They meet in the opening game an 1 out on that proverbial limb, we will go with the Akron team this year. THAT ABOUT COVERS THE area. Next week we will take a 1- k at the region al competition whit h always has a lot of un heard of teams and surprise. * Once the Regional play is part it gets down to brass tacks of teams either bung g<xd or they aren’t around.
