meeting at South Central High School, Union Mills, on caturuay, October 21. The pui pose of this workshop meeting was to help the oitners better understand their responsibilities and activities related to their office. This year's theme, Pot of Gold, was interestingly presented by the District ofticers. The featured speaker of the afternoon was Mrs. Rosemary Murphy of Kentland, the former Mrs. America. Accompanying the local officers to the meeting was Miss Winningham, chapter advisor. Past Matrons Meet Memories were pleasantly jogged Tuesday evning, Oct. 24 by the viewing of colored slides of events of years past of installations and special nights of the Walkerton Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, shown by Mr. Grover Oplinger at the meeting of the Past Matrons Chib. There were eighteen in attendance. The wonv n enjoyed dinner at the Paddle Wheel at 6:30, then went t<> the Masonic Temple for a business meeting and program. Mrs. D-onard Beaty was elec-ti-d president; Mrs. Leßoy Smith, vice president; and Mrs. Flan Gifeakas reported the telephone committe for this meeting were; Mrs Harry Dull. Mrs. John McCombs and Mrs, Stanley Orcutt. The next meeting will be in January.
