Bullinger of North Liberty has accepted the position of Program Director of The Saint Joseph County Tuberculosis League. The tuberculosis league is placing a great deal of emphasis on a “child-centered” health education program and as one of her duties Mrs. Bullinger will be directing this program in the area schools. Mrs. Bullinger is a graduate of Clay high school and the Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Befor accepting the position with the tuberculosis league, Mrs. Bullinger spent 7 years as an executive secretary with the sisters of the Holy Cross Hospital Association with hadquarters in South Bend. She is a member of the North Liberty Order of Eastern Star and presently a member of the Rainbow Advisory Board in North Liberty. Street Commissioner Russell Ruby advised that United Blacktop Pavers, Westville had completed all contract work except portion of contract calling for the placement of 6” gravel base and 2” asphaltic concrete to an area 170' x 12' in placement of 6” f gravel base and 2” asphalt concrete to an area 170' x 12’ n , the 400 block of Ohio Street. Firm was authorized contacted and request that contract work be completed in the immediate future. Police Chief E. C. Ward was authorized to purchase decal markings signifying Walkerton Police on both sides of town’s police patrol car. Board also approval the placement of order for twin beacon lights, bracket and cable for the mounting on top of police car. Various matters pertaining Police Department operations and mode of activities were also discussed . with Chief Ward. Utility Supt. K. L. Knepper re- | ported that Jollie Back, an employee of the department for the past 12 years had submit ted his resignation effective as of October 21th and had accepted other employment in a local plant. Lowell Jevning, 412 Michigan Street was interviewed by the Board and following same his application was accepted and authorized to report for duty on November Ist, Further review was made of price quotations of Stahl Metal Products, Inc. and McCabe-Powers Body Company for a Heavy Duty Lin*' Construction and Maintenance Body and following review an order was authorized placed with the Stahl Metal Products, Inc. of Cleveland. Ohio for replacement of present utility line truck. Notice to bidders was authorized prepared and advertised requesting' bids for a 2 ton chassis upon which new line construction body will be mounted.
