Loyal I. Wilson, who represents Mutual of New York in Walkerton, was selected to attend the company's advanced underwriting workshop held recently in Columbus, Ohio. James Holland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Holland has enrolled in Indiana Barber College at Indianapolis with his classes starting on Tuesday, Oct. 3. His address 619 Fletcher Avenue, Indianapolis. Miss Laura Divine returned to Nashville, Tenn. Monday after spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Divine. Miss Divine is an Airline Stewardess for American Airlines. Mrs. Cora Norton who was 81 years young October 7 spent Sunday with her granddaughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Georgeantas in Gary. October 7 was also the birthday of Mrs. Georgeantas. Others present at the special occasion was her grandson, Dr. Robert Skinner and Dr. Paul Humphery from the University of Chicago. Grandma Norton received several lovely gifts. Mrs. Estell B. Corwin. Myers Lake. Plymouth died Thursday evening. Oct. 5 in the Parkview Hospital, Plymouth following one weeks illness. Mrs. Corwin is the mother of Mrs. Harold (Donna» Teter former residents of Walkerton having owned the former Dairy’ Bar, and recently moved to Plymouth. Funeral services were held from the Grossman Funeral Home in Argos, Sunday afternoon at 2 pm - '

Gone Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Palmer, Koontz Lake. is an Ensign in the USNR in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Newton Williams Walkerton, spent several days last week in Brown County, Nashville, Ind., and other south eastern towns, enjoying the fast going colorful foilage. Mrs. Viola Emerson of Lafayette is visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Hunt. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Hunt entertained with a family gathering and carry-in dinner in her honor. Guests were Mrs. W. D. Jones and Mrs. Howard Dimmick, daughters of Mrs. Emerson: also Mrs. Kenneth Pearson and Mr. and Mrs. James Jones and family all of Michigan City; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jones and family of Mishawaka and Mr. and Mrs. Norris Bussie and family of Walkerton. A group of adults from the United Methodist church enjoyed a Fellowship Retreat to Hocking County, Ohio over the past Week end. Those who went were, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Beaty, Mr. and Mrs. Brook Bowers, Mr. and Mrs. Wilder Burnside, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Orcutt, Mrs. Frank Hahn. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Skinner, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Ullery, Rev. and Mrs. Harold Williams, Mrs. Lucy Ullery’ and Mrs. Pearl Stull. The group arrived on Saturday and began their tour of the very interesting and beautiful area under the leadership of Mr. Beaty. After conducting an outdoor worship service at Cantwell Cliffs on Sunday morning the group left for home.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hannagon, R.R. 1, spent several days last week in Wellston. Michigan as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Al LeLende. Among places of interest they visited was to watch the many fisherman catching salmon in the Maistee River. DIXIE WALKERS SQUARE DANCE CLUB We held our regular club dance Saturday. October 7, in the Walkerton Elementary building. The business meeting was brought to order by our new president, Wayne Allsop, who welcomed everyone. Bu 1 Welsh of Crawfordsville. Indiana was our guest caller for the evening. Visitors were from Hi Pardners, Swinging Squares. Nappanee, Hanna and Walkerton. Our next dance will be held October 21. and will be a Halloween dance. Members and guests are asked to come in costume. There will be prizes awarded. All members are asked to bring a dish for pot luc k refreshments. Club members are traveling to Osceola Saturday, October 14, to dance. Anyone wishing to go should be at the school at 7:15 p.m. Remember the club will be sponsoring a series of lessons starting Sunday, October 22 at lessons will be held in the 7 p.m. The lessons will be held in the Grovertown Club and will last for twelve weeks. Sunshine Giris Float Is A Winner 1 J
The John Glenn Sunshine Society held its second meeting October 3, 1967, which was called to order by Karen Thompson. President. Karen gave special thanks to C< nnie Verkier and Nancy Chapman for their time and effort which, along with ether Sunshine members, made it possible for the Sunshine float to be first prise winner at the John Glenn Homecoming Parade, Special thanks was also given to Joanne Williams for donating her car to be decorated as the Sunshine float. The Sunshine Society was given $15.00 as the first prize award. The New Sunshine members wore informe t about their rough initation and also their formal initiation.
