The Mike Walters reunion will be held Sunday October 8 at the Sheneman Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rosner of South Bend were Thursday dinner guests of the Harry Clarks. Mrs. Bob Clingnpeel and Mrs. Esther Harmon visited friends in Bremen Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Inez Krause of South Bend was the guest of Mrs. D. A. Pearse several days last week. Mrs. Alice Purdon of Kokomo and James McClain of South Beni visited Mrs. Stella Ulrich, Friday evening. Wednesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bickel of South Bend. Rev. Dean Kreig made a business trip to Marion Tuesday in the interest of the Beaver Creek Church building program. Rev. and Mrs. Ritchie and family, of Berlin. Pa., spent last week with the Walter St ropes and other friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rosner visited Mrs. Aura Rovell at Culver, Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W O. Thompson at Bluffton, Indiana. The Price reunion was held Saturday nt Sheneman Grove, about thirty attended coming from Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. The Folk family reunion was held in Sheneman’s Gr ve Sunday, September 24. The same officers were electd to serve another year. The 1968 reunion will be held at the same time and place. Sunday afternoon guests in the Clem Mamerow home were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ward of North Manchester, Mr. and Mis George Collar of Argos, George Worthen of Elgin, Illinois, Oren Tumi of South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. John Oberly of Wyatt and Ben Baughman. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kerry, of Cramdun, Wis., visited Mrs. Kerry's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Jones Sr , last week end On Sunday the Jones entertained at a family dinner. The guests included besides the Kerrys, Mr. and Mrs Kenny Folk and Mr. and Mrs. William Jones and family.

Mrs. Ronald Savoie has returned home from Osteopathic Hospital. Come hear the band play in North Liberty on Saturday October 21. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rauen, Dawn and Aaron were week end guests of the William Doan family in Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Snyder were Sun ay dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Richard O'Brien at Edwardsburg. The faculty of the Greene Township School and their families enjoyed a picnic Friday evening at the Sheneman Grove with 46 attending. Susan Steele of Kokomo and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gentry and Marjorie were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Max Steele and family. Elwood Renz was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party Sunday evening, given by Mrs. Renz in the Frank Sims home. Thirty-two attended the occasion. Recent visitors of Mrs. Gertrude Sousley were Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Bickel of New Carlisle, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mangus of Kimmell and Mrs. Carl Fults of Bremen. NL Elementary School Adds Two Teachers Several additions have been made to the North Liberty Elementary School staff since the beginning of the school year. With very over-crowded classes in kindergarten and grade four, additions were made in these two grades. Charles Sprague, a resident of Mishawaka, was contracted to teach a section of grade 4. He is a graduate of Indiana University in 1967. and also is a graduate of Mishawaka High School. Mrs Rose Whitmer, who has been the kindergarten teacher at Greene, is now serving the North Liberty Elementary in the afternoons. Students Enroll At Bethel Three area students are among the lio Freshmen to enroll at Bethel College, Mishawaka, Indiana, after completing a rigorous week of testing and orientation, which began September 11. Dinah Ogle, daughter C.L Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Zook, RR. 3, Box 730, Walkerton, majoring in elementary education at Bethel. She graduated in 1967 from Oregon-Davis High School, where she was the valedictorian of her st nior class. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson. R.R. 1, Box 204, Walkerton. Steve Peterson is now enrolled at Bethel after graduating from John Glenn High School. Peterson was the president of the Hi Y Club and played baseball, football, and basketball. Jennifer Safar, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Safar. Rt. 2, Ri x 701. Walkerton, is an elementary education major at Bethel. Miss Safar also graduated from John Glenn High School in 1967. Among her other activities. Miss Safar was awarde 1 the Spanish and Yearbook Awards, was in the Honor Society, the Pep Club. the Library Club. and received Honorable Mention for the “Si nior of the Year” award. denominations. Telephone Co. Explains Monday Difficulties The United Telephone Company. Which serves the local art a. has offered an apology and brief explanation for some inlt rupted service over the week end and especially on Monday. Sonic unavoidable line trouble did hampei service on long distance calls. On Monday the pinch was felt more due to this being a business day. The officials of the company explained that trouble in the lines leading into Walkerton. made it difficult to get long distance calls through. The company did try to contact the major users in Walkerton to explain the trouble to them and were sorry for the interupt d service.
