Koontz Lake News Lions Dinner Meeting The Koontz Lake Lions Club held their September meeting in the American Legion Hall. Walkerton, on September 20. This was also “Ladies Night”, with all the wives welcomed. There were 100% attendance pins given to the following thirteen members during the prog ram: Frank Atkisson. Ernest Brovold. Ben Duszynski. Elmer Hartke, Edwin Jacobson, George Kostin. George Lanphere, Theodore Pipke. Wilbur Mullet. Ric hard Palmer, Ralph Pearish. Roscoe Provence, an 1 Lorrell Thornburg. R< v. and Mrs. Thomas Frost showed slides of their time spent at a Methodist Mission School on a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico. A new adult class that will be taught by Mr. Lloyd George will be started this coming Sunday at the United Missionary church. This next Sunday is Rally Sunday, eveyone plan to attend. NEWS Mr. and Mrsu James Verkier, patron and matron of Walkerton Chapter, Order of tha Eastern Star were presented a beautifuUy decorated cake in honor of their 18h wed ling anniversary at the regular meeting of the chapter Tuesday evening, Sept. 19. During the business session Mrs. Verkier named dates to be remembered: Oct. 3 the eight 25 year members and the five 50 year members of the local chapter will be honored; Oct. 17. the Rainbow Assembly will be special guests; Nov. 21. past marons and past patrons of chapter 319 will be honored. Proteins for the evening were; Mrs. Newton Williams, secretary; Mrs. Alfred Drews in station of Adah; and Mrs. Leßoy Smith, as Maltha. Before the closing. Mis. Vet kier gave a brief resume of the life of the found* r of Eastern Star. Dr. Rob Morris Two members, Mrs. Mil red Dutcher and Mr. Verkh i contributed to the birthday bank. □ - □ DEATHS □ □ Edward Leverenz Edward Leverenz, 86. R. R. 3, Walkerton died at 8:30 a.m.. Wednesday at his home, following a short illness. Born May 15, 1881 at Chicago, he was married June 19. 1926 at Chicago to Emma Sadma, who survives. Also surviving are one son. George Leverenz. of LaPurente, Calif.; three grandchildren, and one sister. Mrs. Edna Heifferman of Walkerton. Services were conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday at Nusbaum Funeral Home. Walkerton, with Rev. Hamid Williams, pastor of United Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery. Ix*on W. Falk Leon W. Falk, 53. route 2, Walkerton, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at E Street division IS months. Mr. Falk was born in Aurora. 111., on May 4. 1914, to Frank hospital. He had been ill for and Ros. (Kipp* Falk. H< had lived in the Hamlet area mo>t of his life. He was employed by the Allis-Chalmers company. Mr. Falk was married in Hamlet on Nov. 21 1946 to Beatrice Euler, who survives. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Cath, he church al Fish Lake. Besides his wife he is survived by two brothers. Frank. Nappanee. and Mathew. Kn x; and one sister, « Mrs. Evelyn Wisler, Hamlet. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. AnthonUs church, the Rev. Eric Schaaf officiating. Burial was in Pine Lake cemetery. Mrs. Dolores Gutierrez Funeral services were held Tusday at the Nusbaum Funeral Home. Walkerton, for Mrs. Dolores Gutierrez, 81, who died Sunday at West Lake Hospital Mi Irose Park. 111. Rev. Hamid Williams officiated. Buri.il was in Woo Hawn Cemetery, Walkerton. Mrs. Gutierrez was born on July 19. 1886. in Camaquey, Cuba. She came to the United States two years ago. She lived with her daughter Mrs. Sam Collins, ot Walkerton. She was married in 1904 in Cuba to Victor Gutierrez, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Diamiantina Lopez of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Adolfina Sainz de La Pena of Miami; six sons, George of Melrose Park. Delio of Cincinnati, Victor of Hollywood. Fla.; Armando an 1 Übaldo both of Lakeland.
