No News Is Gcod News - Not Always
There’s an old saying, "No News Is Good News.” This might be goo 1 in some Instances, but in the n w riper business this is fatal. You can help ease this situation in many respects. Wf have had come across our desk in recent months, several articles of "Voice of the People" nature which came to us unsigned. Several of these we figured were exceptionally good articles, bringing out some good points the particular individual had to express. In some instances, they might have been a little harsh in their approach, but never-tho-lcss, they were of good context. We, and almost every new;*paper, do not accept anonymous articles. We require a signture. This doesn’t necessarily mean Voice Os The People Did you know that families of servicesmen in Vietnam are being sent cards that state their son has been killed (which is not true) .by the Russians? These cards are sent at tense moments when there has been bombings reported near the serviceman’s

This is always well received by all. but having to omit such articles because a sender will not identify themselves, always leaves a question in our mind as to the authenticity of the article. We appreciate you submitting of "Voice of the People” articles as well as any news, but do ask that you sign these articles and if a name is to be withheld explain this for our personal benefit. base. year. A total of 765 students are enrolled from the Kindergarten thru the senior class. Os this total, 214 are in the upper four grades and a total of 287 in the high school building. The elementary school houses 478 students, including the kindergarten. Editorial. It looks like Walkerton and North Liberty will operate on fast time this winter as the South Bend and Mishawaka city councils Monday resolved to keep their respective communities on "fast time” for the six months we usually revert to "slow time”. The decisions of the two councils were unopposed at their Monday ni^ht meetings. This area, always caught in the webb between the fast and slow time areas for the past few year, will probably iust watch the boundaries move from one side of the area to the other. 1917
