■HMHHHHHHHHHK i AhH These two pictures of Walkerton were taken from the old water tank that used to set in the 200 block on the west side of Michigan Street. The exact date isn't known, but they were probably taken in the early 1900 s. Brook Bowers submitted these photos. In tne top picture, the view is straight down Michigan street and possibly distinguished in the far distance is a small white church and opposite it the old Walkerton High School. This is at the present intersection of Michigan and Jackson streets. In the far top right, is a win 1mill that was on the old Place farm, which is now Place Park. The business district, much of it looking similar to the scene of today with only slight changes, is at the first intersection and left. On the left side of the picture the old depot is seen before the present building was erected The back of the building in the left center, is the back of the present 600 block of Roosevelt Rood. The bottom picture is from the same point, but heade 1 more to the left This is a more Complete. but not as clear picture, of the business area from this location. 4-H Ire Cream Social A Peal £IIJ Members of the Lincoln Twp. 4-H Clubs heli a most successful Ice Cream Social and Street Dance Frtdav. express their appreciation to the public and their parents for all their support. A highlight of the affair was a terrific new band called the “Psychos” who played for the street dance. A Confliction on dates with the Lions Club Youth Dance hampered the attendance, but those who missed it will want to catch this talented group at any one of their weekly dances coming up. They include Donnj' Roam, Mike Bell. Wally Heil. Kent Ansbarger. Rich Dove and Fred Merrick. Girls Club president Roberta Van Dyke was chairman of the affair while Boys Club president. Wayne Bellinger took care of transporting all those tables and chairs. Paula Pavton arranged for all those delicious home made cakes and Charlene Cripe made all the posters to advertise the affair.
