Teas and coffees have been held and more an- planned as the work of committees spreads. There are still openings to be filled and anyone interested in becoming a part of the excitement of this first benefit may call either Mrs. Backer or Mrs. Handley. Membership in either of the two auxiliaries is open at $1 per year and all area women arcinvited to join, whether or not they are able to contribute work time in the hospitals at present. Members may serve as Pink Ladies, may work in the gift shops or assist with the Candy Stripers as well as contribute time to fund raising. School Buses On Parade Yellow s< hoo] buses, filled with students of all ages, are again a familiar sight on Indiana highways. Rut as familiar as diiwrs may be with the sight of the school bus, many drivers may not be familiar with the laws relating to the stopped and loading bus. The Indiana Traffic Safety Council cites tw’o important provisions in the "School Bus Stop Law." One part of the law applies when traveling on a two or thiee lane highway. If the school bus is stopped on the trav. 1. d poitmn of the highway to receive or discharge school children, has its r.-d warning lights flashing, and the stop arm out, all drivers traveling in Loth directions must stop. The “st- p lines" foi in. meeting and passing the bus are imaginary lines drawn across the road from the back and front bumper of the bus. A different regulations .applies wh.n traveling on a highway with two or more lanes in each direction, which are separated by an unimproved strip twenty feet or moie in width.
