Shamrocks Top (Jenn In Thriller (Continued from j«ge 1) t-thr, wh<> had b< < n the big gainer on this drive, picked up ine making it fourth and goal from the two when once again I e was called on and was stop|ed on the one by the entire ruddle of the Falcon defense. The Falcons then moved out of the deep area on a key third ( own run of nine yards by Gary Trost. However, they were ( >r< ed to punt and Casteel li< ked from his own 15 to the Shamrocks 38 where Fisher ran it back to the 28 and had a < »th 15 yard piling on penalty < tiled on the Falcons. From this first and 10 from the Falcon 14. a short pass from I eterson to Hostetler made it f ist and goal from the three. On tie next play. Steve Eberly s >oted into the end zone for the Shamriwks initial store with just 109 left in the half. The extra point run was short and it >d 12-6. which was the halftime score. \fter the second half kickoff. t s <- Falcons pushed to the Shami k 45 on three plays when 1 oerlv intercepted a DeMyer I 'ss giving possession at the 43. Three plays later Trost returned t’>'- compliment with an inter- < ption on the Shamrock 30. t t again Eberly swipped an- < ’ her DeMver aerial to stop this threat. After failing to make a f ■ st down, Alberts boomed a 44 yard punt that moved the action into Falcon territory. A big loss : ’temping to pass forced the Edeens to punt and Peterson ’ ’umed this one to the Falcon J 5 where their scond touchdown i -arch started. Summerfield picked up 12 on a run for an- < ’her first down Hostetler hit f >r 4 and Summerfield gained 3 more. end zone, being tackled right on the goal line for the tying TD. His try for the point after on a kick was wide and with 36 left t<> play in the third period, a 1212 tie was held. A good return by Larry Mueller put the Falcons on the 49 following the kickoff. An offside penalty hurt, but the Falcons then relinquished possession but again got the ball right back as Casteel recovered Eberly’s fumble on the Shamrocks first play. A punt gave the ball back to the Shamrocks, but Stasko picked off an errant Peterson pass to give the Falcons groat field position with a first and 10 from the Shamrock 25. An apparent first down on the 15 on a pass from DeMyer to Stasko was nullified by a holding penalty and eventuallj Casteel kicked into the end zone < n a play which referee Larry Gradeless watched Casteel get solidly racked on the kirk but failed to call a roughing the kicker penality. This gave the Shamrocks possession again ( rather than giving the Falcons a first and 10 on the 25 on the ; very apparent penalty. Another interception by Casteel gave the Falcons possession on the first play as 434 remained in the game. They failed to gain a first down and < nee again a punt bv Casteel put the ball in North Liberty's hands, first and 10 on their own 15. It was here that the final touchdown drive started with the kev plav being the Peterson to Summerfu Id pass, setting up the winning score. All in all. it. was a good game, a groat come from behind victorv for the Shamrocks and a hard loss for the Falcons to take. Glonn looked very good in th< first half, but offensively they were weak in the second half the boys seemed to be getting tired. The Shamrocks, who did enjoy the advantage of a preseason jamboree last Saturday, came to life much more in the second half and dominated the

offensive statistics in this 21 minute period. The game featured some fine defensive play <>n both parts with hard hitting and pa -s interceptions being exceptionally notable. Penalties were very important in this game with some key 15 yarders hurting the Falcons while the Shamrocks were only flagged for one 5 yarder all night.
