Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Clark I and Mr. and Mrs. Clem Mamerow attended a reunion for students prior to 1913 in Marion, I Indiana, Saturday. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. William Dutcher attended the Polk Twp. Picnic at the 1.0.0. F. hall near Tyner. Sunday evening they i visited Mr. and Mrs. William 1 Schultz. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Grunwald of Plymouth were also guests. Guests in the Charles R. Coop- | er home the past week end were | Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schneckloth and Robert Behning from Davenport, lowa. Miss Pam Cooper came home with them after spending a week in the Schneckloth home. St. John's Luthern Church held their annual picnic at Sheneman’s Grove on Sunday July 30. Studio Dress Shops Clearance sale is now in progress. Many good buys still available. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Savoie and family have returned home after a week's vacation at Bear Lake in Michigan. Mrs. Jean Fredricks and granddaughter of South Bend visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harroll on Sunday afternoon. "Saturday supper guest® of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sims were Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Savloe and family and Mrs. Sheila Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rauen. Aaron and Dawn spent last week vacationing at Fish Lake, Michigan. Joy Holmes was a guest. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Patrick and Tammie of Walkerton and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sheneman enjoyed a picnic dinner at Deer Forrest, Coloma, Michigan on Sunday. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Balsley and family were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Flatt, Sunday afternoon they all attended the ground breaking services for the CommunityBaptist Church in South Bend. The Mummey family reunion was held Saturday at Sheneman's Grove with 31 attending from Chicago, Valparaiso, South Bend, Walkerton and vicinity. Bettcher, 64507 Snow BerryRoad, North Liberty, Ind., uses the field radio while attending Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps summer camp at Ft. Riley, Kan. He is a student at Indiana University, South Bend, Ind. He is receiving six weeks of training in leadership, rifle marksmanship, physical conditioning and other military subjects. Upon successful completion of summer camp and graduation from college, he will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army. Cadet Bettcher graduated in 1960 from North Liberty High School. Rainbow News July 24, a regular meeting was h< ld presided over by Sharon Knowlton, Worthy Advisor. She thanked all girls and adults who have been driving to Westville the last month to help our sister assembly build their membership up. A group went over on Monday for practice of initiation. Two girls were voted upon to receive the degrees of our order in Walkerton, Kristy Krick and Marva Thornburg. Initiation will be held August 14th in the Walkerton Temple. We will assist Westville on Monday, August 7th when they initiate 4 new members. Final plans were made for a Rainbow Summer Salad Bar to be held on Saturday, August 12th at the Masonic Temple. The public is invited. Serving will be from 5 to 8. Homemade bread and rolls. $1.50 all you can eat. The poster committee will rm^t Thursday. 1.0.R.G. appointed, Mrs. Alfred Drews Grand Deputy of District 26. Mrs. Drew^ will ^continue as Grand Lecturer of District 1 and also serve* as Grand Lecturer of District ^26. At the lust meeting a gift was presented to Pam Dutcher with thanks for being our Rainbow Queen Candidate for the recent Tri Kappa Scholarship contest. Seventeen girls and three adults enjoyed a swim party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Groves on Friday, July 28. A delicious pot-luck supper was enjoyed by all. We wish to say Thanks to the Groves for their hospitality. On Saturday, July 29th, Mom and Pop Drews accompanied by Terri Kincaid and Kris Smith, granddaughter of the Drews, of South Bend Assembly No. 1, went to Walton. Indiana for the Inspection of the Walton Assembly by Mrs. H. Coats and was preceded by a wonderful chicken dinner. Sunday, July 30th we attended a beautiful reception for the Grand Worthy Advisor, Carol Schwalm of Walton. All of the Grand Officers were presented, as were many grand Helpers from all over the state. A mock wedding was presented by the whole Walton Assembly in honor of Carol plus several songs to her. The whole town really out did themselves from hospitality, food and banners across the streets. Everyone en-

Drew;# Lawrence Welk At Indiana State Fair Lawrence Welk and his "champagne music" will be feature at the 1967 Indiana State Fair in the Coliseum on Saturday and Sunday, September 2 and 3 on Labor Day weekend. Scheduled for two shows daily, Welk will have Rie entire TV line-up of performers with him when he makes his second appearance at the State Fair. His first appearance was in 1965 when he drew capacity crowds. Complimenting the maestro's famous style will be such TV regulars as the Lennon Sisters, accordionist Myron Floren, dancers Bobby Burgess and Sissy King, singer Larry Hooper, violinist Bob Lido, pianist Jo Ann Castle, and Irish tenor Joe Feeney. Ticket prices range from $4.00 for box and arena seats to $4.00, $3.00 and $2.50 for reserved seats in the mezzanine section. The 1967 Indiana State Fair is scheduled to run for eleven days-August2s through September 4.
