vvery citizen do his or her part in supporting those who enforce the law. The American Legion’s intensive campaign to help restore greater respect and support for law and order has met with overwhelming acceptance by Legionnaires and police officials alike throughout the country. In deciding his term of srvice to the cause of law and order National Commander John E. Davis called on the membership of The American Legion for full and complete support. He has been delighted with the spirit in which Legionnaires everywhere have accepted this responsibility and the fine amnner in which they have inplemented the program. Their response to this program has contributed su*^ stantially to the support of law enforcement officials at all levels of our government. The American Legion has

grown into an organization of such dimensions in manpower, influence, and grass-root stability that its future contributions to community, state, and nation could dwarf its record of ac hievement since 1919. The destiny of The* American legion does not lie 1 in nationwide* concepts but rests upon the vision of Legionnaire's everywhere and depends upon their accomplishmnts as enthusiastic individuals and as organized groups in behalf of their respective communities.
