DEATHS )——— — — □ Jacob C. Gensinger Jacob C. Gensinger, 79, of Rt. 2, Sycamore Road, Walkerton, died at 11:50 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after a oneyear illness. He was a retired farmer. He was born on OcL 5, 1887, in Walkerton and had lived in this area all his life. In June 1912, in North Liberty, he married Fannie Stump, who died in 1929. Surviving are three sons, Harold C. of Mishawaka, Raymond J. of South Bend and Leonard D. of Plymouth; a daughterter, Mis. Catherine Marie Cisney, of Walkerton; 14 grandchildren; nine great - grandchildren; a brother, Orville, of North Liberty; and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Stump of Englewo<xl, Fla., and Mrs May Clark of North Liberty. Services were held in the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren with Rev. Edward Stump officiating. Burial was in the Fair Cemetery, Lakeville. Mr. Gensinger had been a deacon in the Church of the Brethren for 40 years and a member of the church choir. George Tarflinger Funeial services for George Tarflinger, 75, of Rt. 3, Walkerton, who died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Health win Hospital, were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church in Walkerton with Rev. Anthony Letko, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Evanston, 111. He was bom March 14, 1892, in Chicago. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Grace McCellelan of Rancho Cordova. Calif., and a sister, Miss Grace Tarflinger of Walkerton. Mabel E. Kollar Mrs. Mabel E. Kollar, 72. 201 W. Maple Avenue, North Liberty, died at 8:40 ajn., Wednesday, Juno 7th in the E Street Division hospital, LaPort after a weeks illness. She was bom on September 24, 1894 in Mishawaka. Indiana. She was a housewife and owned a grocery store in Lakeville for 20 years. Coming from Lakeville to North Liberty where she rsided for the past 7 years. She was married in 1914 in to Cliffton Lonzo who died in 1945. She then was married to Donald Kollar in South.Bend who died in 1959. Surviving are a son. Elmer A. ' Miss Signe Peterson Services for Miss Signe Peterson, 72, of Walkerton, were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, With Rev. H. Milton Lundahl, pastor the Bethany Lutheran Church, LaPorte. She died at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital, following an illness of one week. She was born Oct. 5. 1894, in Chicago and lived in Walkerton the last 15 years, coming there from J Chicago. Survivors are two nephews and a niece. OES News Memorial was given and the charter draped in memory of a departed Sister, Mrs. Beulah Fults, Tuesday night June 6. at the meeting of Walkerton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Summer Recreation Tennis lessons will be given from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon daily. Lincoln Twp. Homemakers Club Meets The Lincoln Township Homemakers Extension Club met last Tuesday with 29 members and 2 guests present. The meeting was opened by the president. Mrs. Bertha Daube. "Beautiful Dreamer" was sung by the group after Mrs. Hazel Collins gave the history of the song. They were accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Lois Sherland. The club collect and the pledge were given . Roll call by Dorothy Knowlton and minutes were read. The treasurers report was given by Mrs. Mamie Mackin. The birthday song was sung to Mrs. Sherland. Mrs. Ruth Clark gave the lesson on safety. The July meeting win be postponed one^week due to July 4th falling on the regular meeting and will be July 11. Gary Meeh ling showed very interesting slides about the trip to Alaska that several young people took in connection with the Methodist church. The committee. Mrs. Laura Malstaff, Mrs. Delight Mechling and Mrs. Marie Stahlev served delicious refreshments. The tables were decoratd with boquets of spring flowers. Prizes were won by several ladies. #

4-H Club News Ln the absence of the presiarnC and the vice-president, the treasurer, Ginny De Simone, presid’ d at the meeting. The meeting was opened with the pledge of alliegence, lead by Sherry Harrison and the 4-H pledge was lead by Penny Naragon. Singing was lead by Cindy Huhnke. Then we talked over new business. A Demonstration Clinic will be held, June 20 at 9 a.m. Interested members can contact Mrs. Peter* son. The next meeting will be June 13 at 3:00. June 27 will be the last day dues will be at 50c. from then on dues will be raised 254 every meeting. The members then had recrea* tion followed by refreshnaeDU. FAREWELL PARTY FOR MISS MARRIANNE KERSH Miss Lynn Pickavet and Mise Sharon Chapman co-hosted a farewell party for Miss Marrianne Kersh Monday evening. The party was held at the Hooker Bowling Lanes. Several games of bowling was enjoyed followed with dancing. Punch and cake was served by the hostesses assisted by their mothers, Mrs. Walter Pickavet and Mrs. Ray Chapman. Marrianne will be moving with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Richard Kersh Jr., to Texas in a feW days.
