Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Conrad of Clearwater, Florida are spending this week with her mother, Mrs. Clem Tuttle and Jerry. Mrs. M.B. Slick had as guests for Memorial Day, her nephew, Mr. Harold Koontz and Mrs. Koontz of South Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Pontius and daughter, Diane. Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Chucki Creech and Debbie Naragon spent Sunday at Buck Like Ranch near Angola. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Steele and Rev. Charles Cripe of Bremen left last Thursday for Southern Calif. They will spend a week in California and trom there will go to Eugene, Oregon to attend the National Church of the Brethren Church Conference. They will be gone about five weeks. Mrs. Bertha L'rbin attended the wedding and reception of Henry Gifford and Mary Richards in Plymouth Saturday. She was accompanied home by her sisterin- law, Mrs. Demaris Metzger of Columbia City who spent Saturday night and Sunday with her. Miss Prudence Jackson of North Liberty was a Sunday afternoon visitor. Guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sheaks Sr. during the past two weeks were their sons and their families from California. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sheaks of Torrance; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sheaks. Jr. of Santa Maria and Dtnnis Sheaks of Santa Monica. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bick, Eddie and Barbara spent Sunday at thi home of Mr. Clyde Bick’s parents near Rochester. Rev. and Mrs. Ray Kuhn and daughter, Carol of Plymouth were Monday visitors of Mrs. J.A. Kizer and attended the funeral of Mrs. Myrtle Northam. Pvt. James Daube of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri is spending a 30 day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daube before being sent to Viet Nam. Stephen Burch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Modest Burch will graduatt from Indiana University School of Business on June 12. In October, he will enter Officer's Training School with the Air Force at Lackland, Texas Mr. and Mrs. Richard Masterman entertained Sunday evening honoring the first birthday of their son, Terry. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Masterman, Mr. and Mrs. James Keeling and sons, and Mrs. Maxine Wood of Bunker Hill. Guests in the home of Mrs. Alice Millard over the week end were, Mrs. Dora Sheeley, Mrs. Edith Straub and Mr. and Mrs. Charls Bohn of Galien, Michigan: Harrison Sheeley and Lawrence Setig of Three Oaks, Michigan: Mr. and Mrs. Charles McEndarfer of South Bend and Liwell Gindleberger of Osceola. Sharon Bellinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William O. Bellinger of North Manchester, former residents of Walkerton, was among the 132 graduating seniors, at Manchester High School June 2. Relatives and friends from Walkerton, North Liberty, Plvmouth. Munster, Wabash and North Manchester were present at the open house held for her after commencement. Tri Kappa Receives Four New Members Four new memuers were initiated into Epsilon Chi Chapter ot Tri Kappa Thursday in the Presbyterian Church, Walkerton. They are Mrs. Max Hobbs, Mrs. Carl Christensen, Mrs. James Keeling and Mr;. Rolla Baumgartner. Having belonged to Tri Kappa in another city, Mrs. Roger Beehler affiliated with this chapter. Preceding the ceremony members and initials attended a dinner at the Paddle Wheel Resturant. Mrs. Donald Wray, Scholarship chairman, reported Tri Kappa Honor Awards had been presented to each respective schools. Those receiving them were Deborah Naragon and Bill Payton of Walkerton Elementary School. Jill Erbaugh and Alan Bachtel or Tyner 7th grade. Patricia Kot al and Mark Malstaff of St. Patricks Elemtary School. The recipient of the $200.00 Scholarship was Jennie Safar, a senior ot John Glenn High School. Walkerton Town Board News The Board of Trustees of the Town of Walkerton convened in regular session Tuesday evening. June 6th with lull membership in attndance. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved anJ < utstanding claims presented and authorized payable from the respective funds. Police activities rep< rt for May were accepted as follows: 7 pn perty damagt traffic accidents, investigated; 11 traffic arrests; 5 parking tickets issued: 6 traffic complaints; 7 special details; 4 funeral details; 8 fire details; 8 assist motorists; 8 assist other departments; 7 attempt to lorate; 10 motor checks; 20 miscellaneous complaints; 21 business irregularties; 11 lost articles reported; 5 lost articles returned; 4 dog complaints; 2 prowler complaints; 5 family complaints; 2 breaking and entering; 4 larceny complaints; 2 criminal am sts; 1 juvenile arrest; 2 juvenile complaints; 3 lost children-located and returned; 2 stolen bicyi les reported and recovered; 1 tornadi watch; 2427 miles traveled. Contract was issued to Kauffman Insulation Co. of Bremen, covering material and labor, and with a 20 year guarantee to apply a 3 ply asbestos roof on the Towns Municipal Building consisting of 43 pounds asbestos base sheet and two 15 pounds felts for the sum of $2,090.00. Three bids for rt pair of Town s police car damaged in recent accident while in performance of duty at U.S. 6 and St. Road 104, were considered and contract awarded to low bidder, Walk* rton Body Shop, in amount of $210.95 for repair of damages listed. Minor damages was incurred to left door of a car c wned by Harley Wilber, RR. 4, LiPorte, and covered by Town s liability insurance. Mr. Wilber was stopped at State Road 104, when police car in roundin t comer, slid into side of the Wilber car. Pi lice car was in pursuit of several speeding motor cyclists when the unfortunate accident accured. Balance of meeting was spent in general discussions of various
