POPPY DAY has but j one fundamental purpose — to i honor those who gave their lives in defense of America. Wearing a POPPY on these special days marks any American as one who has never forgotten the tremendous price paid for the liberty and freedom we all enjoy. The money you give stays here to aid families of disabled veterans of all wars since and including World War I. Some 20 million of the small red flowers are hand crafted each year by thousands of disabled veterans throughout the nation. His name will be engraved to the permanent plaque and he also received an award for his possession.
