P L-J PTA To Have Style Show The Polk - Lincoln - Johnson PTA will meet on Thursday, April 20 at 7:30 in the John Glenn high school gym. A style show by the Home Ec. department under the direction of Miss Janice Winningham. The theme is “The Lively Look of Fashions.” There will be the installation of new officers at the meeting. At this time the Lion' Club annual award was awarded to a senior boy selected by a committee of the tlub and school officials. Steve Peterson. s< n of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson route I. Walkerton, was chosen as the winner of the award. He was presented the trophy emblamatic of the award, by Jack Tiede, a member of the Walkerton Lions Club and a recipient of this award in 1951. Tiede explained the selection of the award on the basis of seven points. The award is to a senior boy. with the following things taken into consideration: athletic ability, career record, improvement, attitude on and off he floor, sportsmanship and scholastic record. This was the twentieth such award given by the club, started as a basketball award in 1917-48. and changed to an all sports award last year. Bob Urbin, secretary of the club, presided over the meeting and acted as program chairman as well The evening started with dinner served by the women of the Legion Auxiliary Following. some singing was held while the tables were being cleared. Mention was made of the coming Lions Club Fish Fry on Ssturdav. April 22 and of the next meeting on Tuesday, April 25 at the Walkerton Community Building. Several guests were then introduced. The coaches of the athletes in their various coaching duties were introduced. They were Lou Kollias, Ed Stewart John Hans and Roger Bvehler. Thtfe coaches in turn introduced all the boys, designating the sports they compete in at JGHS. The presentation of the several awards by basketball coach Roger Beehhr then took place, and Lou Kollias. football coach made mention of his football awards. Following the presentation of the award to Steve Peterson, Vie Griewank. an outstanding basketball official for 28 years In Indiana was introduced. Vic talked on some of his outstanding experivnees in the Long reign of officiating, a very enjoyable story they make. Following his speech, and a presentation of a

Before the meeting closed, the nominations committee placed in nomination the following slate of officers for the 1967-68 year, which starts July 1, 1967. For pi'ident. Hariy Mechling; Ist vice president. Bill Bouse; 2nd vice-president, Clyde Bick; 3rd vice-president, O.C. White; secletary treasurer. Bob Urbin; Tail Twister. Melvin Harrison; Li< n Tamer, Harold Muncie; two year director*, Jt*ok Tiede and Agnew Ludwig; with the one year directors still having another year to serve being Keith Knepper and K. C. Chapman. Denslow Doll will also remain on the board as immediate pastpresident at that time. At the April meeting on Tuesday, April 25. the floor will be open for nominations. Following this will be the election for tin coming year. Spring Festival At Walkerton This Friday The Annual Spring Festival i’ coming to Walkerton Eleinentarx School Friday night April II at 730 p.m. with Mr. and Mis George Robinson teachers in charge. There is no charge for this entertaining evening in which parents have the opportunity to hear their youngsters m vocal an J band numbers. Each of the Grades 1 thru 6 will sing as well as the sth and Gth grade chorus, all under the direction of Mrs. George Robinson. The Elementary School Band will perform under the direction of its band director, George Robinson.
