Community Club Holds January Meeting The W.tm.»n - Communit* Club nut January 6. at the Town Club With Mr Frank Helfrich. pr» ident opening the meeting with a prayer for the New Year and World P» irr. The u ual order of business • followed. There were 12 members present. Mrs. Evelyn Lawrence favored the group with two plan > num--1 ber They were Scaf Dance and Stardus.. Devotions Were given by Mrs. M. B. Shek who took "th* unlived year' as her subject, emphasiz- ‘ ing ' live one day at a time." The meeting was cloaed with the dub collect. Afterwards a Bilent auction was held. It was very sm a ssful and entertaining. Mrs. Caroline Newell of the , ways and means committee sponsored the project. Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Vivian Spencer, Mrs. Clyde Chapman. Th*- audit Report was read by Mrs. Daub**. Treasurer's report Was given by Mr Mamie Mackin and secretary's report by Mrs. Dorothy Knowlton. The dub by-laws were read to the members by Mrs. Daube followed by the safety lesson given by Mrs. Ruth dark. Tlie <dub creed was read in unison by the members and the meeting turn*-d over to the refreshment committee chairman. Mrs. Hazel Collins. Mrs. Hazel Arsemau. Mrs. Bertha Ihiube and Mrs. Martha Mull. The tables were beautifully decorated in shades of lavender floral arrangements. Refreshments of sloppy Joe sandwiches, potato chips and Coffee were served. Prizes were awarded to several ladies.

Friday in th* Te*garden Eva geh< al l m * d Brethren Church with Rev. Donald Ruhl and Rev. Rob* i t Waddell officiating. Burial was in th** West Lawn Cemetery at North Liberty. Mrs. Williams was born m Fulton County on July 21. 1901. and had been a resident of the Riley Rd. community for 40 years. She was married to Howard Williams on 5* pt. 30, 1922, at Plymouth. He survives. She was a member of th** Teegarden El’B Chur-h, the Missionary Society of the church; the North Liberty Home Economies Club and the Folk Twp. WCTC. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Georg** Marzotto, of Mishawaka; four brothers, Ralph Irwin of Albuquerque, N.M., and Alfred Irwin of South Bend; two sisters. Mrs. Beulah Starner of Plymouth and Mrs. Steve Kmzie of Bourbon; four grandchii iren and a greatgrandchild.
