LOUIS HOUSER Mrs. Louis Houser was hostess to the Revelation Circle of the United Metlmdist Church December 21 in her home. The home was decorated in the Christmas motif. Mrs. Grace Atwood, who presided during the business meeting, read a poem, “Chi istmas Time Is" and verses written by Edgar A. Guest and Norman Vincent Peale. The Circle will be hostess lor the Birthday Banquet at the general meeting of the W.S.C.S. to be held January 4 at the church. Mrs. Wayne Cover gave the devotions, A gift exchange was enjoyed around a table decorated with red candles and a small silver tree, sum uixled by miniature angels. Each gm*st received a crocheted bootie filled with candy. Mrs. Bonnie Smith will bo hostess for the January meeting. METHODIST NEW YEAR'S EVE SERVICE The United Methodist Chu < h will conduct a New’ Year's Eve Sen ice on Saturday evening, in the Illinois Street building. T> Chocolate Mint Pic (Makes one 9-inch. pic) 1 (9-!nch) pastry shell, 2 (1-oz.) squares unbaked and vooied sweetened chocolate 1-1/3 tups (one 15-oz. can) 1 4 teaspoon salt Bordens iragle Brand 1 4 cup hot water sweetened condensed 1.2 teaspoon mint xtract , milk 1 cup heavy ere; m In the top of a double boiler, combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate and salt. Cook over rapidly boiling .ater: s.ir Constantly, until mixture is very thick. Gradually add water; ■tir to keep mixture smooth. Continue to co k 2 to 5 minutes, or Until mixture thickens again. Stir frequently. Remove from heat. Stir in mint extract. Chill mixture in refrigerator or over ice Water until cool. Whip 1/2 cup of the heavy cream until thick; fold into the cooled chocolate mixture. Four into i astry shell. Chill in refrigerator about 4 hours.
