BT RAT A. Nt SB AUM Did you make a New Year's resolution? Sad but true, even the best intentioned resolution is often broken within a few Says or few weeks, causing jeers to replace cheers. Why is this? Can it b<* attributed to an attitude of ' Oh, what's the uee?" Mort resolutions recognize an existing personal fault with an intention for improvement. Self improvement is elusive when one frets over failures or frustrations. If there was a use or 1W se in trying in the first place, then surely there is a •soonJ use and purpose m trying • and trying hard - to carry R through An. <>r all New Year’s resolutions arc unnecessary if we forget the <alendar date and vu w every day as a New Year s Day. The slogan. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again is the best day by day r< • lotion any one can make. Am We meet the challenge of every day a cir< uni."lance may tend to knock us down in di."ipp ointment or despair. To kc. p the "Try. try again" resolution requires our getting up once oflencr than we fall down. It i- really quite : impje. But it requires pluck, not luck. RAY A.
