Knecht - Norris Sacred Heart Church. Notre Dame, was the scene of the wedding at 12:30 p.m. Saturday of Miss Elizabeth Knecht of North Liberty and James J. Norris 11. Rev. Mancel Blair performed the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Knecht, North Liberty, are parents of the bride, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Norris, of Rumson. N. J.

The bride wore an ivory floor length Empire gown with a fitted silhouette of bengaline faille. The bodice featured a bateau neckline and three quarter Ka buck i sleeves. Her rosepoint lace mantilla style veil was an heirloom from the bridegroom’s grandmother. Mrs. John Lehker, K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Mich . was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Gerry Wharton, sister
of the bride, from Indianapolis; Mrs. James Knecht, Chicago, sister-in-law of the bride; and Miss Linda O’Connor, North Liberty. The attendants wore Chianti red velvet floor length gowns with sleeveless Empire bodices with portrait necklines. They wore ribbons of the velvet interwoven in their hair. Frank A. Jost 111, Evanston. 111., was best man. Serving as ushers were Joseph A. Sehlangen, St. Cloud. Minn.; James I). Davidson. Barrington. Mass.; and Gregory Norris, brother of the bridegroom, Rumson. The bride is a graduate of North Liberty High School and attended Ball State University, Muncie, where she affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega, national social sorority. She is a graduate of St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. Indianapolis. The bridegroom is a graduate of Loyola High School. New York City, and the University of Notre Dame where he earned his A. B. degree and his M. A. degree. He is currently working on his Ph. D. at Notre Dame. The recepti< n was held in the Morris Inn. The couple will return December 24 from a skiing trip North, and will live at 2263 N. Johnson Street. Kettle Drive Ends Saturday In Walkerton The Walkerton Salvation Army drive, conducted annually at Christmas time, has one more Saturday of s »li< iting to do. This Saturday the American Legion Post 189 will handle the duties of at bast one of the two kettles, but two will again be manned. The second week total was within a few dollars of the first Saturdiv with a total of $L52.73 being collected last Saturday with the Lions Clut> doing the work. The committee would like to thank everyone for their contributions. the clubs and indiv lu.ds who are again taking time to ring the bells for this drive and Jacob Drugs ai d Dave and Ray’s for the c >ffec they have been giving th? workers on these often chilly hours.
